Currently, it has the Varta AGM 12v 80 Ah OEM battery.

There is some kind of reprogramming required as well after replacement.

What are the options for replacements.

Request assistance in selection.
Finally , Changed the 525i's OEM battery.
It was a 2008 battery so lasted for 6 yrs.

BMW navnit provides BMW original batteries by Exide.
The varta was a 640 Ah and Exide was also avlb in 640 Ah.
I got the 720 Ah (~ Rs. 23K) put in but it requires programming before fixing.
Cost diff between the 2 was barely 1500 rs.

The AGM battery was for Rs. 42k.

Ended up paying ~Rs.29k with labour and taxes.
Did it at the dealer since outside garages wouldn't know how to program and register the battery after fixing it.

My Fiesta SXI 1.6 Petrol stock battery lasted almost 5 years and yesterday only i saw it draining away. I will once again prefer to have ford stock battery if possible or else go for Exide

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

Car- petrol igen i20
Model- July 2012

OE Battery replaced- Oct 2014

Battery was from exide and it was disappointing to replace OE battery because of dead cell in 29 months though the car had done 50k kms.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

My 2003 Wagon R got the first battery replacement in 2008, and second in 2013.
while my 2008 Innova ran 1.9 Lakh km till 2012 without a change before being sold.
The battery in my Polo did not last long, replaced the stock battery from my July 2012 model last week. All three were Exide.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

The Amaron white battery on our new Hyundai Eon drains out in two-three weeks when left unused. This is versus the two months and odd range we used to get on our ancient Maruti Zen, but on Amaron green, before it needed charging. I think this's a general concern with Hyundais these days.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

The stock battery on our 2009 December Maruti Ritz Vxi conked out in the first week of this month. Lasted for close to 5 years but for the past few months cranking had been pretty weak. Replaced it with Amaron Flo 35 Ah from the local battery dealer.
Total damages : 3300/- after 800/- buy back on the old battery.
Could note the difference immediately on startup. Cranking is back to how it should be. The Flo model comes with a 4 year manufacturer warranty as well.

Cheers!!

The OE Amaron Black-700RMF 65Ah battery on my Scorpio lasted all of 5 years and 2 months, and was replaced yesterday.

Replaced it with an Amaron Go 105D31R 85Ah (bigger) battery yesterday, at an exchange price of Rs.4200.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

5 years passed, no problems so far with Amaron OEM battery in our Santro. The has covered only 18K km so far & it is occasionally used by dad.
Since the car is occasionally used we made it a habit to check the battery regularly & start the car and allow it to run idle for 10 min once in 3 days. I think the battery has another 3 year life left in it.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

The OEM battery ( Motorcraft battery ) in my pre-owned Ford Figo 1.4 ZXI Diesel conked off after two and a half years (~30 months). Replaced it with Amaron FLO 45 DIN . The friendly battery shop near my house matched batterybhai.com's quote of Rs. 3900.

What was surprising was that there were no tell-tale signs of battery weakness. The car wasin the middle of a 200 KM trip and the car simply refused to start after our coffee break.
