Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

Replaced the OEM battery on the 1.6P Polo after 43 months of ownership. Got it replaced at the dealer for ~ 5K INR.

So if you have an exide OEM, be prepared.
I always believed the same. But my Gypsy King (Mar2011) came with a lowest/cheapest model Exide which is still going strong after 4 years 3 months ! I have given up waiting for it to die !

Long ago, my Yezdi 1980 came with a Standard 6v battery which also lasted more than four and a half years, which was amazing for that time !

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

Car: Oct' 11 Swift DDiS
Kilometres run: 84,350
Battery: OE Exide 65Ah
Time lasted: 3.65 years

Well, my OE Exide battery conked off. Felt and was also told at the 80K service that it was time to replace. It did not go totally flat but wasn't able to crank the engine anymore. So finally replaced it with Amaron 65Ah for Rs. 5150/- with the exchange of the old one.

My Figo tdci Titanium's battery lasted 3 yrs and 1 month. Got it changed using an online battery shop called batterybhai. The experience was quite pleasant and i didnt need to move my car from my house I chose the Amaron Flo which came to about 3900 after exchange of the old battery.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

The Exide OEM battery on my Ritz VXi (September 2009) running till date even after 86k km. Touchwood! This is the most any OEM or for that matter even any replacement battery has survived on any of the cars we have had in the family. The OEM batteries on our M800 1999, Santro 2003 and Swift 2008, also all Exide, lasted about 3yrs each.

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

Just replaced G2HC (City ZX) OEM Amaron battery after 9 years. However, the car has been sparingly used with just 26K Kms on the odo.

I know this is practically ancient history, but the Exide OE battery in my 2002 Palio lasted just 1.5 years with 8K Kms on the clock

I replaced the OE battery in my 2012 Ford Fiesta Classic after 2 1/2 year of ownership. The car had done around 42000 kms. It was replaced by Exide which is running good.

SF Sonic is a brand of Exide Industries Ltd, much like Thums Up is a brand of Coca Cola. Oiriginally it was a different company called Standard Furukawa belonging to the BM Khaitan group of Calcutta. It was taken over by Exide in 1999. However, the brand, the factories, the people and collaborator were all retained and given a fresh lease of life when it came under the Exide fold.

Here on team-bhp, there is a coverage of one of the factories where Sonic is manufactured. You can check that out.

I am not too sure if your sound system sounds better because of the Sonic battery, per se. I think it is because of a new battery under the bonnet :-)
