My Nissan micra's battery lasted for 2 years and 10 months with 40000 on the odo. It came with exide. Now I have changed to amron flo. Let's see how long does this go.

But one question, I see an increase in the mileage after the battery change. Does battery somehow impact mileage?

Ford Ecosport T (o) battery died in 2 years

Hi All,

My ford ecosport T(o) is exactly 2 years old as of today, car didn't start today, roadside assistance came and saying battery is dead. Car has clocked 20000 km. Will the OEM battery only last for 2 years? I have extended warranty on the car. IS the battery covered in this?

Thanks

OEM Exide 55 Ah battery on my car died suddenly last month (51k and just above 4 years) without any showing any symptoms. Got it replaced with another Exide battery for 5,500 after a discount of 1,500 for old one.

Modern-day batteries last longer, have more 'cold crank capacity' etc., but when their life is over, they give up the ghost suddenly, mostly without warning. I remember, when dear friend and Guru Uday Bhan Singh first pointed it out to me, I wasn't fully convinced. I had seen the old black hard-rubber shell batteries give plenty of signs before dying, and one could shop around and choose before changing. But that is not the case anymore. In my last Gypsy 1000cc I found the battery dying one evening, and had to push-start the next morning, and rush to the battery shop before everything else. keeping the engine on at even long stops !
Very inconvenient, and downright dangerous, under certain circumstances !

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

I changed OEM battery on my i10 last month. It was an Amaron 40B20L. It lasted a good 4 years but with minimal usage of 30K kms. Battery test was not all that bad, still went by the service center advice. Did not want to take a risk as I had already jump started once. Power windows were slow as well (not sure whether reason was a low battery).

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

My OE battery is still in use after 5 years of completion of using the car and the ODO is around 48k mark. The previous owner drive only 8-9k in the first 3 years while I took the ODO from 9 to 48 in a matter of 2 years!

I am facing this terrible problem where the car does not start in the first go. I have to crank at least twice to get the car started. No problems once it starts. This, I am reporting after the servicing has been done and the adviser gave an OK to the battery! I guess it is time to change for sure as reading through the thread I see most people have had the change around 50k mark. I am using a Fiat Punto 1.2 Active.

Any suggestions, online experiences or so on battery?

Re: OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

Recently got the 60K service done for my Dire and the battery report says it is bad and needs to be replaced. It is still the same Amaron OEM battery that is just 3 months short of 7 yrs Still starts with the first crank but the crank seems just a bit longer, is it time to replace the battery ? Posted the details with the last 2 battery test reports - here.

The OEM battery on my Alto lasted for 4.5 years. Did not conk out, but was changed because one cell had become weak.

OEM car battery life - How long did your OE battery last?

The OBD in my Figo shows the battery charging of 13.6-13.8 whilst running. Earlier it was 14.0 but off late it has reduced. On cranking, the voltage touches 11.2 but does not go below that.

Is this a cause of concern?

Has the battery become weak or is the alternator not charging properly?

Please advice.
