Looks like waiting period in Chennai is reduced a lot. My Cousin bought DZire VDI last week within 2 weeks after booking.

re: Review: The 2nd-gen Maruti Dzire

Has anyone tried to install a armrest to their new Dzire? Please post pictures with details if you have. I have been thinking about it, but have not found it anywhere so far. Also, the Beige carpet is getting to be a nightmare to keep clear. I have managed to keep the front ones in decent shape so far, however, the rear ones is where the problem is. I removed the OE mats, and put in the paki poda mats, yet they dont fit the well even after modifications, so may go for a nomad mats only for the rear. Any other ideas?

I doubt how ergonomic the seating and driving would be once the arm rest is installed. I did search for a few but then later dropped the idea as I felt it may not be so comfortable given the height of the arm rest to that of the reach of gear lever. Do let me know if you come across any good options.

Has anybody tried installing cup holders on the rear armrest in the new Dzire? Kindly share pictures of the same and how the process is. I came across a few options on ebay, thinking of a DIY.

re: Review: The 2nd-gen Maruti Dzire

People have been reporting the issues of vibrations in steering column & rattles developing in the new swift as well. Here is the link.
But I tried finding same on the DZire thread & to my surprise did not find any.
Is it that Maruti has improved the quality of DZire over the swift?

Hi @ank.nsit

I believe that's (steering vies & rattles) is related to a particular batch only, & a recall was made few days back... or at worst for other cars to a rogue parts supplier. This is good that your car is devoid of the issue, & you have uneventful drives.

I do not own a DZire "yet", but was going through the reviews thread.

I have the rate list of DZire & found the Road tax in Haryana on LDi is around 20K & that of VDi is 43K & ZDi is 48K.

How can the tax difference between LDi & ZDi be almost 2.4 times while the ex-showroom price difference is only 1.27 times?

Maybe because, the ex showroom price of Vdi and zdi, falls in different road tax categories. That's why this difference.

185/70R14 : For Lxi / Vxi & Ldi / VDi (that is base and mid variants)
185/65R15 : For ZXi & ZDi (for top variants alongwith Alloy wheels)

You are right about Z-variants.
But for LXi/LDi & VXi/VDi, it is 165/80/R14.

Hi Dzired. So what is the status? Resolved? If yes, what was the issue and what did they do to resolve it?

Yes the problem was resolved after changing the Body Control Module. The car has covered around 700 kms after the replacement and is behaving normally.
