Got the alignment checked at my preferred store. TBH it was a waste of money since the values barely had any deviation from the alignment done 8k kms ago. Still, on a serious note, was good for peace of mind.

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

Update: Maintaining the carpet type floor mats in rainy season was becoming a huge pain, and the mats had worn out a bit too, hence upgraded to OE 3D mats available at Rs. 3890. Some pics:

I am planning to upgrade to 16" wheels on my 2022 Ertiga. Is it even possible? Provided the suspension components are designed for the XL6 only?

And how did you change to UV cut and IR cut glasses? Do they come in the new XL6?

Sirji, Will this fit Ertiga too?

One other question I have.
I have installed the MGA spoiler for my Ertiga. Unfortunately, the cap covering the bolts has somehow fallen off on one side. Shashi, or others, can someone guide if I can get replacement for this?

This is a common concern with the MGA spoilers and hence I hadn't installed them till it came OEM in some form and child parts were available. When XL6 facelift got launched last year, spoiler came as factory fit in Alpha plus and thus it's caps are available. However you will need to get it painted.

Right: 83991M51U00-5PK
Left: 83992M51U00-5PK

Second option is to meet the accessories manager of your dealership and coax him to approach the vendor for caps. This surely is a messy way but they can do it. Advantage is, you get caps matching your existing spoiler.

For same reason, post installation, I had the hole sealed using glue gun so that water doesn't seep in through those caps and secondly, the glue holds the caps.

Shashi

Hi Shashi, I want to fit the driver side sun visor from the xl6 to my 2023 ertiga, wanted to check if this will be a straight fit? My gut says yes. Can you please share the part number for the driver side sun visor? I am aware that the illumination function next to the mirror may not work.
Thanks in advance.

This is XL7, the 7 seater variant of XL6 but is sold in Indonesia. Maruti should have brought this also to India.

TBH a car like yours which is immaculately cared for and maintained well, checking the alignment and correcting to its precision is the way to go. The money spent is only on peace of mind as you said. How much did it cost? Did they correct it?

What about balancing? Do you not check balance at 8K KMS to factor in balance being off due to tyre wearing out?

Of late Maruti cars have good alignment I suppose. I have not had to align even at 10K in the S-cross. It's closing in on another 5K and the car holds the straight line for a KM at the least!

I had this mirror in mind while doing the Auto IRVM upgrade, however there is a thick exposed wire in XL7's setup, which was a strict no-no for me, hence went with the Baleno IRVM way.

Yes it was meant to be a light hearted comment. They charged me around 500 Rupees for the alignment check and I jokingly commented that you should tweak something atleast for my satisfaction.

The mechanic laughed and commented that everything is perfect, needs no adjustment.

I religiously follow 5k rotation schedule to ensure even wear. Also for balancing, they mounted the wheels and checked for any imbalance, none was found with existing wheels.

True. My car needed alignment only when I had hit a hump really hard during the Jaisalmer trip last year. Else for normal driving, it never asks for alignment.

Shashi

The way you are pampering it, if and when you sell this car, it will surely be sold at a premium over showroom price of that time

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

Has anyone successfully installed the auto dimming IRVM on their XL6 in Bangalore? I badly need this but every other mechanic I spoke to refused to do it citing some reason or the other.
This is an upgrade I would love to do.
Please help 🙏🏻

Beware of the not so good Velcro's on the back of these mats which keep these tied to the floor. They are using some cheap glue to stick these small strips to the mat. Mine have already started to give away in 4 months of usage. While you take these out for cleaning, they tear the floor mat & always take away few threads.

Since no one responded to the above I assume that this has not been done by anyone in Bangalore yet.
Last weekend went to the Bosch service centre for my wheel alignment and balancing. Spoke to the service advisor about the auto dimming mirror for my XL6.
He says that he had done this on another car but the glue won’t stand and so the mirror kept falling off.
I showed him the Celerio set available on Boodmo (990J0M76M06) which comes with glue and all other attachments. He said he can try this on my car but the risk is all mine as he can’t guarantee that the mirror will stay in place for long.
Shashi: Did you use any other specific glue? My windshield has a sun film, do you suggest that I remove the sun film only where I need to stick the mirror attachment or can I use the glue on the sun film directly?
I would deeply appreciate a quick response.

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

I have bought XL6 Alpha AT on 27th of Aug. Drove almost 200 kms by now. There are two questions that I have:

1) Seatbelt warning sign and the alarm (for 95 seconds) does not go off, even when nobody is in the car besides me (of course I'm wearing the seatbelt). It only goes away when all the six seatbelts are in place. Is this some kind of bug or anything else? Any solution?

2) Suggestions for basic accessories and items such as TPMS, Tyre inflator, Portable vacuum cleaner etc are welcome.

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me if these questions have already been answered somewhere.

Thanks in advance!
