Two points I can think of are
1. back seat comfort. Back seats are upright. Some do not like that.
2. Low end torque is less. You need to change gears to get the max out
of the car.

Other than these I find the car excellent. You are going to like all other aspects like fit and finish, smoothness of the engine, space and fuel efficiency.

But you are right. It's a great hatch if we can ignore the price.
Getting it through CSD, so the ex-showroom price is 6.2 in Chennai. Thereafter registration etc at my hometown in UP. OTR it would be 6.65 to be precise.

Never thought of it this way!

A great buy my friend. Do post your ownership review. Now, you can really ask ' Why so serious?'

I think I can live with that. We are a family of two plus a toddler. So, not much use of rear seats unless we have some friends/relatives travelling with us.

Low end torque problem I noticed in my test drive. I felt it was worse than my 10 year old M800 std even. However, i had driven a one year old SX4 before that. Didnt find much difference at low end.

Fuel efficiency is what I am looking for. Glad to hear that part is good.

@bijujj, Would you share how exactly did you go about 'running in' your car?

CSD = Canteen Stores Department. One of the few perks for being in defence services.

Fuel efficiency is very good. After running in period I am getting 13-14 in the city and 18+ in highways. For comparison I was getting 8-9 in city and 13-14 in highways for my corsa 1.6 in identical driving conditions.

I didn't take anything specifically during running-in period other than avoiding sudden accelerations and keeping the RPM generally below 2500.

Thanks JVH. I would surely put up my views on the vehicles here.

@bijujj, its giving 18+ kmpl?? Thats amazing. And as you say, you did not care much about running in (except keeping rpm below 2500), I guess running in does not matter much. At least for Jazz. Or, Could it stretch to beyond 20-25 kmpl,if properly run-in? I seriously doubt . Anyway, i am shortly planning a 'Great Indian Road Trip' covering about 3000km+, on my new space-ship called jazz, wherein highway fuel efficiency is going to be thoroughly tested.

Hi cpyder based on initial impressions the fuel efficiency of my ANHC seems to be better than our NHC.It is amazing to find this powerful engine is more fuel efficient than some small cars.My ANHC has done 5000 km. Approximate 16km with AC in highway ( at speeds 70 - 100 km/hr) .Combined highway ( 70 %) and city ( 30%) 14 km/L.I think 18 km/l is achievable on the highway if I am bit more conservative. So dont worry about fuel efficiency of JAZZ.

Friends I am preparing my initial impressions report of ANHC.Please wait till ONAM is over.

Still cant understand why dont HONDA think about diesel. the whole world is changing to diesel as it is cleaner and efficient. A diesel Jazz could have been a threat to even innvova

Hi Raja, please look up the first post of this thread and also perform a forum search. We have quite a few Jazz threads running on Team-BHP.

Yup, been hearing of 50,000 discount straight up on the Jazz. If Honda can officially correct the price by 1.0 - 1.5 lakhs, that's more like it.
