Please observe on the side it's Super. Most likely as this RHD so would be super only.

Await more info on this car

Prem, you may be right in this regard. KLF you may recall is a post 1967-68 Series as well.

Further it adds to the mystery that on a site search Kerala RTO site has no record of KLF 1902, whilst some of the "palace cars of KLT series are still recorded.

ram, prem, both of your assumptions are all correct. This car is not a palace car.to the best of my info no automobile auction has taken place in the Travancore palace in the last 10 to 15 years. This car in all probability is the Buick super 8 belonging to the KURUVINAKUNNEL family (casino hotel group) (it was a KLF registration)which was lying in an unused condition in a dilapidated shed in an Estate in Thodupuzha. the car has not run for the last 40 years or so.(documents were never updated, that is why you dont find the details in the RTO site) About 3-4 months back the car was taken from its resting state ,apparently for restoration. Is this used car show room located in Moovattupuzha in Ernakulam district?

by the way regarding their claim of the one in 3 in India, there are more than 4 vintage buicks in Kerala itself

Yes ajay. You are 100% correct.

This car was taken up by som dealers is what i had heard. It was in very very rusted shape, and even teh steering wheel had to be reconstructed. I had seen this car while being painted in cochin. Wonder how much is being quoted now!

Yes Ajay you are right . This car does not belong to the Travancore palace . Like you said this is probably the Casino group car . I had seen the Casino group car in 2005 , if my memory is correct it was KLF registration .The casino car has not run since the early seventies , but was started occasionally .

There is another Buick with a prominent family in Quilon , but with engine issues . I was told the someone tried to start the car with plug wires connected in the wrong firing order. They are looking for a new engine to revive the car since a couple of years ,they will never sell it .

In my knowledge there are at least six Buicks in Kerala.

Prem is this car for sale , why is it in an used car show room?

Cheers !!

Yes, the car is indeed for sale.Regarding the price I dont have any direct info .But from what I gather from local brokers is that the present dealer owners are asking unearthly price for it.They claim they have spent 6-7l lakhs for restoration alone.

the car is indeed the casino group familys car and some years the roof ago had caved in due to the wooden beams of the shed falling on it(peeve may be able to tell you more on that).Anyway from the photos it appears the car has had a Miraculous restoration, considering the condition it was in.But no justification for the near multimillion price tag attached to it!!!
