A picture postcard of the Bikaner city gate with a nice tourer, can anyone identify the car?

A blown up picture of the car, bad resolution

Once upon a time there was a Garware Motors, and they had a fire. Where is this building now? I believe I know.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

On a long distance drive- two Ambassadors one a 1964 Mark II and the other a 1979 Mark 4. These needed to be cooled midway so the bonnets are open. The Mark II was green (a rare shade also seen in the Hillman Minx, Morris Minor, Mark I's and earliest Mark II's) and the Mark 4 coffee brown (the same shade that was also available in Mark 3's of 1977, 78.

Lovely pictures! Might I ask the origin and destination of this particular long distance journey? Must have taken place during the '80s.

Harit - am I badly goofing up, or is this building next to Dadajee Dhackjee on Sandhurst bridge? Now called Chowpatty Chambers or something..
The balconies look too familiar.
The brackets under the balconies, and the ornaments below the pediment look familiar.
If it is the one I think, it's been positively mutilated now.

Thanks FINTAIL. This is a 1984 picture. The journey was somewhere in U.P., if I remember correctly.

My first feeling was Huges road too (but closer to metro motors), but then after looking at it some more, I'm wondering if this is on Marine Drive itself? (maybe near Chowpatty)? Just a guess due to the number of balconies and the (perhaps) deco style of the neighboring building.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Rarely I put any pictures in this section. Today I was mailed a picture of our family car with my grandfather and my father seated on the left fender of the car which is a Ford V 8 bearing registration number BMX 6758 . No idea if she survives and will be great if anyone can share any info or has knowledge of this car ?

Cheers

Hi stanher,
I think the bike is a Yezdi Classic by the looks of the head and the twin exhaust, oval gear box with the gear on the right and brake on the left. The kicker on the bike acted as a gear lever. The area of the exhaust bolted to the engine also confirms that It is a Yezdi. Here are the specificatons(got from a website yezdi.com):

Maximum Speed : 110 Kmph
Acceleration : 4.6 secs. (0 to 60 kmph)
Max. Gradability : 25 with flying start of 20 kmph in 1st gear.

TRANSMISSION:
Gear Box : 4 speed constant mesh
Clutch : 5 friction plates running in oil bath automatically operated during gear changing

SUSPENSION:
Front : Telescopic - Hydraulic Travel - 130 mm
Rear : Hydraulic Shock Absorbers Travel - 100 mm
