Superb Fiats, superb pics. I agree with Karl and Shyam - pictures like these give me the goosebumps

I can almost hear the muted whisper of the eleven hundred, and quite agree when he calls it the 'Ghost who walks'

Wow not seen a chevy nova in long time now, love the vintage girl at the back could this be a photoshoot? BTW the girl looks like Shobha De then Shobha Rajadhyaksha. In fact I am convinced its her. Very early on in her modelling career.

Dear Peers, Economy and Goosebumps,

Some more pics to give you just that, goosebumps. Its the same car in both photos photographed with the favourite backdrop, the Gateway of India. See the Landmaster on the left.

Sometimes people get excited when they see cars which their ancestors had. I remember my neighbours kid was brought to a vintage car rally by his parents and howled when he did not see my green Amby taking part.

About Stanher, he is smart to take such interest in economy cars because before you know it all Standard Heralds would have rusted away. So they become rare like the Badal

Ghost who walks? Where? Soon Mumbai will have lots of Ghosts with the withdrawal of the Taxi's.

But hey, even I have collected old Fiat pictures and memorabilia, each to his own, with due respect. Tomorrow some more posts with Fiat photos.

Cheers harit

Is the Nova's registration number MRJ 7370 ? Incidentally, this belonged to my late friend, who owned this since the 1980's. It had fallen on bad times, was rotting and I got it sold to someone from Delhi about three years ago.

I can spot a Dukkar Fiat among others:

Zero Stone must have been of some significance. The presence of a watchman with kerosene lamps must be to give directions:

Super! I'm afraid I cannot access the link though.

The Landmaster was owned by the gent who was the manager there, now sold.

Sorry, took a little longer than I thought. Here are some more.
One must be a proud owner, the other group actual users.
Traffic scenes, Fiats dominating. Two similar photos are not same, there may be a few seconds difference. I suspec this is Mohammad Ali Road and Pydhonie junction. The third pic somewhere in Kalbadevi?

Thanks Harit! Yes, this does look like Moh'd ali road. Wow, it looked so different with sparse traffic, and in the pre-flyover days..

Apart from Fiats, I can see a neat Viking tempo, and a couple of Hanseat 3-wheelers.

In the Kalbadevi snap - Hey the double decker with the black vertical grill is pure nostalgia. Remember seeing these in my kid days!!

If you look closely, you will see two Dharbhanga R-Rs. A PI (Blue) and a PIII (Black), plus other cars!
