Here is a bit more info on KarthikeyaL's fabulous picture a few posts ago.

You can avoid that by leaving a little more space at the bottom.

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

Unknown car, unknown location, rather curvy sedan. Would judge it to be pre-1940.
One can almost read the street name

Cheers harit

Re: Nostalgic automotive pictures including our family's cars

I stumbled upon a group on Facebook called Calcutta - Photographs and Memories. The group page has a beautiful album titled "Anglo-Indian life 1934-1946". Pictures show life of a British army man who spent a considerable amount of time in Kanchrapara (now in West Bengal). Sharing pictures of cars that I saw in the album. Model armored car from a cigar box:

The owner of the pictures (Peter Moss) writes:

"My father helped design the full-scale armored cars that were being turned out in the Kanchrapara workshops."

While I see the Lancia resemblance, I would say it is almost certainly an English product. There were many streamlined cars like this at the time.

I would go out on a limb to say the car is one of the larger Standards.

It could very well be a Standard 12: http://encarsglobe.com/data_images/g...dard-12-05.jpg

Not too many cars in there but these are pictures for those who love that side of Bombay. Especially the lovely buildings:
