This is shot at the Brindavan Gardens, the trees are typical of Mughal style gardening and Brindavan Gardens is the only place in South India which has this style of Gardens. The number must be Mysore registration where the gardens are located.

This picture is huge!!!
Sometime in 1960's, there was some social/charitable event at Brabourne stadium, Bombay. This picture is from that event.
The story: First I got another picture with this Packard and on the backside it was written that this event was at a stadium, 4 convertible cars were there with celebrities, this car has Ashok Kumar, Mayuri, K.N.Singh, Kamlani etc. I circles Ashok Kumar's face.
In the next lot I got negatives, these were printed. The 4 convertibles are seen, this Packard, two Oldsmobile 1948 convertibles and a Hillman Minx convertible with a Bombay number. If anyone can PM me the registration number of the surviving Oldsmobile convertible in Mumbai, I will check if the car is any one of these. All registration numbers are visible.
And if someone can find out more from CCI, that would be fantastic.

Cheers harit

This is another fine picture with something different. I may have put up a picture from this lot earlier. It involved a 1948 Ford and a Morris in an accident. The Morris, or perhaps a Hindustan, was Parsi owned. In this lot I got several photographs, also some not about the accident, some negatives, the ususal B + W type and one glass negative. This print is taken from the glass negative using modern technology. Good print, what say?

What a picture.

Kamlani would be the famous yesteryear's comedian Gope Kalmani's brother/father?

I guess K.N. Singh's face is hidden with the white circle you put. Can you please post it again without the circle? Thanks

And who's driving.. Motilal?

In the recent lot of negatives which I got and develpoed, this picture was there. All film buffs are welcome with suggestion about the persons, the car and if, then which movie. There were other star pictures too.

Here you are.
On the back of the picture it says : "Gope Kamlani ke chota bhai".
Just check the skyline seen through the roog of the stadium. I am sure it is Brabourne stadium.
BTW, I even got a picture of Lord and Lady Brabourne taken in the second half of 1930's.

BEcause of the Venue and the fact that all are wearing white,it would be safe to deduce that this would be taken at the time of a supposed film star "Cricket Match". Notice Kamlani's white shoes canvas shoes maybe, cant really tell.

Yup thats K N Singh with the specs, next Ashok Kumar all right.

Didnt know Gope had a brother, maybe he was a director or something. That would be the guy sitting on the bonnet of the Packard convertible. Clipper?

Does it say Motilal regards the driver? and is that the Ambassador Hotel without its Revolving top?

Nice picture of Vespa, seems to early models. I am interested to know about your Hindustan-48, (Morris-10M) which year model, how it is running any story about it. Is the tyres size is 5.00/5.25x16, it is available or different. some spare parts were similar Ambassdor, write if possible.

Cheers!

This picture has been developed from negatives which I recently got. The car appears to be a fastback Caddilac?
I have reason to believe that the people in the photo are from the film world. Any comments?

Cheers harit
