YouTube - G-Wagen at Seven Sisters
That is some serious off roading. The last bit was really scary.

But that's a g-wagon/wagen[cross country vehicle] from mercedes -benz which has around 475 bhp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque.

The G wagon is used from the USA marines to the swiss army.More of the list here:Mercedes-Benz G-Class - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

hii guys i met the owner of a proud gurkha the only one in bombay. It was worth the experience meeting him, such a amount of knowledge i got from him and for my surprise the gurkha which he has has the original mercedes OM616 engine and the gear box is PUCH made what a gear box , ull never find such a engine and gear box in any other car in India. The sound of the engine is amazing not even the scorpio or any other car can compare with it.

Tough Trax Range Origins

well although many of you might already be aware of DC(Daimler Chrysler) origins of Trax range.

The entire trax range :oldest being town & country, judo, gurkha trax etc are derivatives of a tough offroader from Mercedes Benz Country, or old G-Class, not only the engine but chassis, body is made by BTL(Now force motors) with understanding from DC-Germany. Only thing is the vehicle is completey ripped off to 4 seats by BTL for cost factor in india.

Force motors make parts & supply them to germany as spares for existing MB-Coutry range vehicles which are undestructible, with under stangin from DC-germany.

One more Peice of Info, our own tempo traveller is a straight carry over from Mercedes Benz, the very same vehicle with no changes(of course loaded with creature comforts) plies in numbers in germany & force motors is supplier of spares for DC.

These vehicles are really tough, & seen them personally in germany a lot many times, next time i spot them in germany sure i will take snaps & post it to you guys.

Best offroader can be a 4x4 trax with modified looks & comfort goodies, if need further information on "what & how to" all are welcome to message me or email me.

with cheers,

Arun

Nope, my cousin is the first guy to put down Rs.2 lakhs payment back in December, he is still waiting. They have promised him that he will get the first one. Apparently lots of people have booked without any payment, they will have lesser priority.

Yes, if you have read this thread fully, it is all about that.

Trax Gamma

Other than the 4WD Gurkha/Judo which is more of a specialist vehicle, Trax Gamma standard 2wd is also there, in the same segment as sumo/bolero etc. However it seems to get barely any mention among car magazines, dont even get mention in their price lists though you see lots of them on the streets particularly small towns

Any views on that, I mean how superior/inferior it is to, say, Sumo/Bolero?

Let's not go off-topic. This is about Gurkha, not Gama.

Perhaps another thread for Trax (non-Gurkha) is worthwhile...
