Yahoo, the 1 ton felt awesome to drive. The massive 4.0 litre petrol engine never ran out of breath. The gearbox was smooth.

Arka, request you to retain the petrol engine and the truck in stock form and do the following:

1. Sand blasting
2. tinkering and painting
3. New tyres
4. Ignition coil
5. A engine tune up.

This should make the beast do wonders. You have a rare piece and keep it in original petrol engine avatar.

By doing the diesel convert, you are increasing the NVH, loosing on the driveability of the monster truck! You may not save much in fuel bills.

Come on, there are other jeeps for your daily drive stuff - Please!

Guys, the meet was a huge success and there were a lot of cars [courtesy team-bhp] and some jeeps [courtesy jeep thrills]

Apart from the lone dicor, all the other SUVs made it to pose for pictures. I'm sure the participants had a blast too. Thanks guys for those who made it and welcome for the people who could not - there is always a next time. Cheers

Why did the "lone Dicor" not pose for pictures ? Was it too shy in the midst of the macho Jeeps ?

It sounds to me like Arka already has a plan on how to proceed with this engine swap. I would opt for a Tata-Cummins 5.9Liter or maybe a bigger Hino. Why don't you make him an offer on the discarded petrol motor?

Yes buddy, Arka has the evil plan of destroying the petrol engine and installing the diesel one. He already has the engine. Am just trying to convince him that petrol power is good enough!

I dont make an offer to friends for their motors

SB, The lone DICOR is in a different category. Hence it did not pose for the pictures.

even in its rusted state, the 1 ton blows all the other cars out of the water with its coolness!
arka now has the coolest ride on the forum!

i was hoping for a side by side pic between the safari and the 1-ton.
Anyone got that pic?

Side-by-side pics of the two (EDIT : three ... there is also a Scorpio in the pic, for comparison) behemoths in motion

Closer view of the trio in motion : note that the OneTon® is the furthest away from the camera.
