1) My version of a Warn 8274 Winch - Same Price I get a PTO Winch, and a truck free.
2) With a diesel engine its an unstoppable recovery vehicle (economical & reliable)
3) For carrying stuff (Work & OTR)
4) Owning a bit of Indian Military History.

PS - Picture of a Soft-Top M37

Hey Arka,

Saw the vids and the OneTon is Amazing. Loved the way it stood apart from the other 4x4s. nothing to come close to its presence.

I love the reasoning behind buying this vehicle. esp this "My version of a Warn 8274 Winch - Same Price I get a PTO Winch, and a truck free."

I agree with going with the practical Diesel Hino engine. Dont know much about this engine but am sure you chose an engine which still is torquey and packs a punch.

I dont agree with the Soft top Mod. It looked awesome with the hard top.

Then again its your call. I hope the finished product is what you visioned it to be.

One request, please retain a dark green color scheme with NO Stickers (like your 550).

Are we in the middle of a season for old army vehicles? I saw some pictures of a Dodge Weapons Carrier under restoration by someone in Cochin - reminded me a lot of Arka's 1-Tonner.

The Nissan 4W73 is based on the M37 Dodge Weapon Carrier, which is an upgrade of the WC51/52 Series Weapon Carrier of World War II.

Please post up the pics of the Dodge Weapon Carrier in Cochin.

Not many survive in INDIA, about 3-5 Maximum.

Regards,

Arka

Headers, I meant the 'like your 550' for the - 'NO Stickers' part. His is the creamish jeep with the soft top (And yours is the white Gypsy). been following all the 4x4 meet threads

What I meant is this vehicle has to have a green scheme and no "STUD" pics like one of the other jeeps in the chennai meet.

Anyway Arka, what are the updates? eagerly waiting.

Ok Ironwolf..BTW, the S.T.U.D is really a Stud jeep..its got a XD3P [read bolero] engine and is pretty smooth to drive. It is owned by the founder of Jeep Thrills.

Hino WO4D.. :-)... One of the best engines..
spares are a plenty.. packs quite a punch...pulls 9 tonners so should be fine.. on this

But i think the intercooled turbocharged ones only give 110HP.. a Naturally Aspirated one is around 90HP...

I'm not sure... I'm forgetting my figures from AL. if need confirmation I can mail them and ask.

Any thoughts of a WO6E?? That is a 110Hp for sure..
