Update:

I got a call from Mr. Santosh from HPCL's Public Grievance Redressal Office today. They crosschecked the data from the petrol bunk and were able to find the transaction for Rs. 701.36 at the same time. And as expected, did not find any transactions worth Rs. 300 around the same time. They agreed that it's case of fraud and have furnished a show-cause notice to the fuel station. He also promised the refund of Rs. 300 that I was charged fraudulently.

Lesson learnt the hard way!!

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

Do we have any HPCL or IOCL COCO pumps near JP Nagar/BTM? Even on Bannerghata road, until Meenakshi mall would also do. Thanks in advance.

I'm fed up of going to the IOCL pump near Dalmia circle and getting cheated.

Like @rajakumar said, the IOC at BTM 2nd Stage is a COCO.

BPCL on Bannerghatta Road opp Subrahmanya Arcade is a COCO

HPCL before Delmia signal is OK

Hi dreamseller,
Please try the Bpcl bunk in Arekere after the signal on the right side when traveling towards Meenakshi Mall. They are good and have not had any complaints. I know them too and in case you have any issues then PM me and I can help you. Even better, if you want to regularly fill there and is convenient then let me know, I can put in a word. Hope it helps. Cheers

Hi Condor, if it is the one opposite the Banashankari terminal then it is owned by Lorry Owners Federation and not a COCO. Also, there are issues with customer satisfaction regularly which I hear from my known friends and sources. One of the better Iocl bunks in and around would be Mahashakti Filling in 3rd Block Jayanagar, Madhavan Park, opp to Apollo Hospital. The other is next to the main Vijaya College after South End Circle towards Lalbagh west gate. Cheers

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

@Sumzup, I think it is by the Food & Civil Supplies dept ( aka Ration shop dept / KFCSC).

Incident from a few years ago - I left behind 500/- with the attendant, and went off on my way to the Railway station. Realised it later, so returned to ask him about it. He said he will tally his cash at end of shift and I can come the next day morning to check. He did return the amount.

But that was quite sometime back. I have not had issues when I have filled there.

Not very confident of Mahashakti, though the IOC @ Vijaya College & Cauvery are regulars for me. Other is BPCL @ Madhavarao circle.

Along with all this, there's the BP @ Jayanagar 4th Block and upcoming ESSAR @ Puttenhalli lake ( behind Brigade Millenium).

So no dearth of choices.

Thanks a lot guys. These leads are really helpful.

@sumzup: That is actually very convenient: it's on my daily commute route. I'll go there tomorrow and will keep you posted. (I'm assuming you're referring to the one that's named Sri Varshath)

Brand new Shell bunk coming up on Dodballabpur Road opposite BMSIT college near the Sobha Althea turnoff.

The existing IOC & BP bunks are going to face some serious competition.

Thanks for sharing. So this will be my preferred bunk from now if queues do not push me away back to HPCL/BPCL.

Knowing the forest of apartments in this area, I expect good queues here too.

I was tired seeing queues at Shell Jakkur that I stopped visiting there and that IOCL near Poorna Prajna School was not my pick. I used to therefore refill at HPCL just before Alalsandra ROB till now.

The Essar fuel station on Magadi Road just before the NICE Road junction is trustworthy.

Does Shell give the same .75% discount like the PSU bunks? Can't remember when I've last tanked up there?

No discount from Shell / Reliance. It is a bit of a bummer but given the assured quality, I feel that even after factoring loss of 0.75%, Shell is certainly worth it.

Yes, its applicable to all Fuel stations. But there is a catch, bank to levy Fuel surcharge @ 2.5% + GST.

I stopped using Shell after IOC opened right next to Shell on Bannerghatta Road. Fuel surcharge was temporarily suspended during demonetization. Earlier HDFC used to refund fuel surcharge for all cards linked to Salary accounts. After 31.12.2016 HDFC no longer refunds fuel surcharge on non-PSU bunks. HDFC does not levy fuel surcharge on PSU bunks.
I am not sure about any other banks/card tie up with Shell bunks.

On the other note: For those who regularly use visit Shell on Bannerghatta Road, I vouch for IOC next to it. I am using this bunk from last one year, fuel (I am referring Petrol here, no idea about Diesel) provided is accurate and quality of fuel is very good. If you tank-up in morning, they will also give you free newspaper!

Edit: Correction, 0.75% announced is applicable to PSU bunks, Some banks have extended that to private bunks also, like Axis Bank. So its upto each bank to extend it to private bunks.
