I have the Viofo A129 Plus Duo which does what you ask for, plus it is a dual cam.

And since both of us are in Bangalore, I would be happy to let you have a look at my dashcam.

The Plus duo may or may not be available now, but you can't go wrong with the A129 Pro Duo which is an improvement over the Plus Duo.

You may contact Mr. Vijay of Viofo.in (*+91 816-0446485‬) - he is very reliable and helpful.

Cheers

I recently bought a 70 Mai Pro Plus (500s) and the videos are pretty crisp. It has parking monitoring along with inbuilt GPS. The rear camera is 1080p so it's okay however the front has 4K recording.

Price on Amazon India is about 11k however in Amazon.ae it is about 8k. So if you have anyone travelling from Dubai or Abu Dhabi it is a good idea to get it from there.

The company said that the dash cam is equipped with 1080p@30FPS HD video quality for recording and live view.

Priced at Rs 4,290, the all-new Qubo Dash Cam comes with a user-friendly mobile application on both iOS and android platforms and is available across various online and offline channels.

With a built-in 6-axis G-sensor, it auto-detects a sudden shake or collision and locks the footage to ‘Event File,’ which users can access on their phone through Qubo App.

Its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based alerts ensure that nothing important gets missed, the company said.

Someone else had posted about this a couple of pages back. But as it has a lithium-ion battery, won't it be prone to catch fire? I remember reading somewhere about such risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I am using Safecam Y3S in my Hexa, hardwired for 12v source through Fusetap. I am facing following issues
1. Dashcam does not automatically record videos upon starting the car. (Default behavior is Recording disable).
2. If I connect to Dashcam through Kacam Android app and Stop and start the Camera, I observed that it records few minutes of videos and again stops recording.
3. I did erase the Memory card (Samsung 128GB) couple of times , ensured there is sufficient free space in it.
4. Meanwhile I tried using "roadcam" android App , which looks to be even worse than Kacam App (have very fewer features). Even this didnt help either.

Anybody facing such a kind of issue with Y3S? Please advice.

Most Li-Ion batteries catch fire due to fault connectors. This should be safer as it is just like the batteries used in our mobile phones. Being from a reputed brand, it may have overcharge, short-circuit protection etc. as failsafe mechanisms.

I could not find any news about this by searching for keywords, hence put the news up for all to know. Forgive me for repeating something which has already been shared in the thread.

I don't really know about this product but batteries in hot cabin seems to be a bad idea. We have seen various instances of power banks blowing inside car when left inside. Even my mobile refused to charge when it was kept under sun for a while.

Here we are talking about a dashcam which stays always on the windshield - in direct sun when parked in open. Temperature in plains of Northern India were around 50 few days back. I don't think any electronic gadget with batteries would have this much operating temperature capability practically.

Heck, even the steering wheel is difficult to hold of when exposed to such a high temperature in a cabin which becomes equivalent to a solar cooker.

I'm using Dashcam in UAE where temperatures soar to 55 degrees. Not a single incident

Hi, I was not able to send the photos via PM and hence attaching it here. The vcc is connected to the 20amp fuse while the acc to the right most 5amp fuse.

From their website. Working temperature range is up to 65 degrees and storage temp range is up to 70 degrees!

Don’t see an issue with the temperature here

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Gurus - Need an advise. I want to install rear dashcam in my Octavia MK3. I have already got a 70mai dual dashcam. Want to understand how the wire connecting both front and rear dashcam was routed? Thanks in advance.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Is there any way to buy Viofo dashcam other than Viofo.in. Comparing prices to that of viofo.com, the difference is huge. Any way to source them for not so exorbitant prices?

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Hi, Request recommendation for dash cam that offers in cabin recording also? Apologies if I might have missed, but most of the dual dash cams thats discussed here were mostly the front and rear cameras, whereas I am looking for one with front facing and in cabin camera.

Example for reference: https://www.amazon.in/Vantrue-N4-Cha.../dp/B083V6K8RH

Haven't seen for Octavia, but it would be similar, I did it in my car like this image.

From passenger side A pillar to foot board, channel below scuff plate to rear door, and then brought it up and through roof line to back. Avoided any curtain airbag. Whole wiring runs through inside weather sealing and tie it securely with tape or tie.

Amazon.in also sells Viofo; but I guess in India the importer and distributor are same for both the sites - its Vijay Sales. So price would be same whether viofo.in or amazon.in. Only option to get it cheaper is to ask someone who is coming back from US or abroad.

Very less option. Apart from what you shared, head to viofo.in and you can see 3 channel dashcam (front, internal and back). 2nd option is from Kent (available in amazon) but they have weird subscription model and no idea about service quality. 3rd option some cheap Chinese unknown brands available in Amazon.in

Thank you so much. Will be getting this done over the weekend. Will take some snaps and share it here as well.
