Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I wanted to order it from nexdigitron website but later I found offers on Amazon but they were the sellers in Amazon as well. I checked with them quickly and they were fine with me getting it there.

I have ordered the 800s, CPL filter and Samsung memory card.

Have you also bought CPL filter? If yes, please share the link.

Hope this helps.
Thanks for letting me know about Drift. I have whatsapp'ed them. They told me 300 for front only and 800 for front and rear dash cam installation. I will go and get this done on Wednesday. Will update post my visit.

It has been twelve days since I installed it and have driven about 600 kms. I am satisfied with it.

I don't think a CPL filter is available for this model.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Greetings BHPians!

I am sharing a quick review of a dashcam that I bought recently. It is "DDPai Mini" and I bought it for Rs. 3500 from Amazon. The product was shipped by a seller named "Nexdigitron".

Installation was simple and was done by myself using a pry tool that was provided in the box. The cable length was sufficient and I was able to hide it pretty well.

The video quality for the price is great. 1 Minute video in 1080P with audio recording turned on takes 100MB of space. Loop recording is supported thus I have installed a 32Gb Strontium Memory card, which is sufficient for my use.

One important point that I considered was for a dashcam to be capacitor based rather than Lithium battery based, and this dashcam fulfilled that requirement as well.

The product surpassed my expectations which were not much considering it is one of the cheapest dashcams by a good brand in the market. Other options considered were "Qubo" and "Nexdigitron A3", but rejected them because they are new to the market and I wanted to go with a trusted product.

Sharing a few footages recorded by this dashcam

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Hello BHPians,
Any Dashcam experts (DDPAI to be particular) please suggest/share your thoughts, I’m seeing today recording in playback and the previous available playback is showing very long back dated, not able to see even yesterday ones. However, I have seen yesterday playback once I opened it the DDPAI app but then vanished after few checks in the playback.

Let me know what might be the issue here and how to rectify this problem.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Request for info:-

Dashcam memory card gone bad.

I removed 128 gb high endurance memory card from my dashcam before dropping the car at service station. The camera was on and in recording mode. Post service I put my card back and it is not working. I tried formatting it on my laptop but computer is unable to format it. Disk size has reduced from 128 gb to 7.8 GB. Tried all steps online to recover but no luck.

Can someone suggest what has happened to the memory card ? I realise my step to remove memory card while recording is the culprit here but if someone can explain the specifics here as to what has happened and if any remedy to it.

Thanks

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I recently bought a DDPAI mini too. It's ok for 3600 rupees. But the video quality is below average. The app UI and saving videos through wifi are all great. But I find my humble 6 year old SJCAM 4000wifi action cam much better than the DDPAI mini.

Qubo has Li Ion batteries and not capacitor based, almost similar price and seems it now falls under Hero. I had gotten a home security cam from Qubo a couple of years back and it working flawlessly and the price was also good, but considering their dashcam is almost same price as DDPai mini and has Li ion batteries, would not recommend it.

Why did you format it in your laptop? You need to format it in your Dashcam. However, if you have tried doing it and it has gone bad, then you have interrupted the writing stage. These things are damn sensitive

The memory card is corrupted. If it is under warranty, I suggest you take to service center and they will give you a brand-new card.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

I had a horrible experience with DDPAI Mola N3 Pro GPS model, somehow it kept on restarting and was utterly useless. I complained to NexDigitron customer care, as I had bought it directly from them, and they were very helpful.

They asked me to share my problem over WhatsApp, and then sent me a new Mount (at their own cost), but my problem was still not solved. Then they asked me to pack everything back, and arranged for a courier to pick up my package and tested it in their own service centre, where everything surprisingly worked well (they tested it overnight, and sent me a video of it's testing on WhatsApp).

They then suggested me to buy a 70MAI A500S Pro Plus+ Dual Channel Dash Cam by paying a price difference of Rs.1500. The brand new, sealed and packed Dash Cam arrived this afternoon, and so far it is working well. It even has ADAS function, for Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning, which I am yet to test.

The DDPai Android app was a waste of time and space, but the 70MAI app seems to be much better. The dash cam even has a small 2" display, which is also helpful. The speaker is quite loud, even in Low volume. The max time duration for video recordings is 3 minutes, would have loved 5 or 10 minute videos, but will make do with what's available now.

Quality is 1944p front and 1080p rear. Seems good so far. ADAS calibration needs to be done while driving behind some car at 20Km/Hr or more, yet to do that.

Will be happy to answer any questions that fellow BHP-ians may have.

Re: The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

Dear BHPians,

My 3.5 yrs old ddpai mini has stopped recording, although the camera stars up and display shows that the lens of camera is working. I have not touched the camera or its sd-card.

Friends, what could be the problem, kindly help me resolve this issue.

Thanks and regards.
