Sometimes the most obvious solutions are the ones in front of us.

I was made to remove the girl.

Very bad behaviour. I thought everyone here was broad-minded. (pun/double entendre and jab definitely intended)

Anyways I've removed those 2 woofers and replaced them with 3. Total Recall!!

What is this box of tissues you guys keep talking about? Did I miss something or have I not been reading the posts properly?

Sam, I was in the office today when I opened this page. I was shocked to see the girl. I was not able to read the latest posts, not with all those people about.

Mohit, could it be that something is touching the cone or the spider? Something in contact with the cone while it is moving could be causing it. Is the sound more like when you crumple paper or it is more like a hum or a buzz?

Well... Tried for more than 30 minutes playing different types of music (Cafe Del mar, Trance, Norah jones, Eagles, Juggy D and what not!) at different volumes and the result - ZILCH! No crackling whatsoever. Will have to do some more testing when I get home. But reversing speakers may be an issue as i don't seem to have wires long enough to reach the speaker on the other side. Will have to see what can be done.

BTW I touched the cone of the speaker when it was playing and the king of sound it made was exactly the same as the crackling.

no need for the hole. low freq. will penetrate through the car seat. just give teh sub about 6" to breathe.

Hey guys,

Just a question about components - I seem to remember reading about someone saying that there are component speakers available without XOs (and im assuming they are 2way + ), how is this possible? and if it is, then how is this different from a coaxial?

Hope i havent misread this somewhere!
