Umm Navin ji, all the cables were running together.
HU was in dash, amp was behind rear seats.
Everything which went from the front to back was running together. You can say it was a threesome..?

HU to amp is the RCA wire. Amp to speaker is speaker wire. Power cable is from battery to Amp.

If no external amp then only speaker wire from HU to speaker.

According to me the power and signal wires say RCA, should be far away. They may just pick up some interference.

If you twine them like a twisted pair then I'm not sure but I dont think it;s a good idea.

please help me find out speakers..

Hi..
i am new to team bhp...
i hav purchased a SX4 vxi.
for that i bought HU of clarion DB566USB and 6" 9" SRR6902 of clarion.
i now plan to buy two pairs of infiniti kappa 6.5" for doors.
my installing person told me that if i install 2 pairs the pairs in the rear door will get more power(or less actally iam not well versed in these..) and the sound quality will decrease..
i am not planning to buy amplifier..
so wat should i do????

Hi all..

i hav planned to avoid 6"9". so which speakers should i buy if i am installing components at front and normal in the rear.
i can strech budget upto 15k.
options in my mind are hertz and infinity kappa series (i dont know their prices).
so can u please suggest speakers for me with prices??
also do anyone have any idea about quality of my HU?

Hello libis,

Welcome to team-BHP, more specifically the BEST section of team-bhp. Cars were designed for music systems, not engines.

Here's what I suggest. If you want Infinity, go for the new reference series. Just beautiful. Buy a pair of 6" components for the front door.

If you already have a new pair of clarion 6X9's then just buy yhr front speakers and that's that.
If you want a matching coaxial for the rear door, then 3 pairs of speakers in the car would be too much.

but i really dont want to cut the parcel shelf. so the plan is to givr up 6" 9". and to add components in front and the coaxial in rear(i think thats the word).
can you tell me about the prices of the reference series?
wer can i get this in kerala preferably from cochin or trivandrum?
also will there be any advantage both in money and quality if i order this from dubai?
also tell me about any amplifier which can run my speakers and also do well if i install a su in future?
please tell the prices(approx will do) so that i can calculate my budget.
well any idea about clarion DB566USB?
i know thats too much questions. but i am reali new to this...
many many thanks in advance......

For 15K you can get some nice components for the front doors. Use teh 6x9 you ahve in the rear deck and let it ride. I assume the 6x9 you ahve are installed in the rear parcel shelf and if so there would be no cutting.

If I were you I'd spend 15K this way...
8K for nice components (Infinity reference 6020 or Hertz Energy or Blau Velocity or Alpine Type S)
and 7-8K for a simple 2 channel amp like the JBL 60.2 or a 4 channel amp like the Pio 6200. The JBL is sweeter but the Pio 6200 can even drive a small sub (using 2 channel bridged) at a later date.

I know you are not inclined towards adding an amp but really an amp does not take up too much room and the speakers (esp the components) will thank you.

Not too sure about TVM, but you can get them from the new JBL store on the Edappally Byepass (Opp. Chirayath cars, near Vyttila). Dunno the prices Sam should be able to help there. (I think the 6.5" comps are 8K and the 6x9s are 6K. Not too sure, though).

For just the speakers, a JBL60.4 (4-ch amp, 8K) or a Pio 6200 (4-ch, 7K) will be enough. They will do decent duty with a ported sub or a bass tube also. But for a sub in a sealed box, a JBL GTO 75.4 (4-ch, 13K) will be required.

I don't think getting the stuff (speakers) from Dubai will make a lot of difference, if you figure in the hassle, loss of warranty & installation cost. Maybe getting a HU from there would save a bit of money.

Gurus, for a budget of Rs. 10-15K what are the best 6-1/2" components currently available in India? Navin might say "trust your ears", so let me reframe the question- which models should I short-list for audition? Kindly mention specific series because just company names would be too generalized (as all of them offer wide ranges)

I am open to hunt for bargains over net also, obviously at the cost of warranty. These days it is not a big deal to find somebody to get something for you from anywhere in the world, thanks to IT boom! After some research found a couple of models with a bunch of rave user-reviews about their performance and VFM factor, any comments?

1. Polk MOMO MMC6500 (available for about 175 USD)
Polk Audio MMC6500 6-1/2'' component speaker system at Crutchfield.com
(manufacturer's site: MMC6500 Car Audio System from Polk Audio )
Bottom line of reviews tend to say- no competitors even within 2-3 times their price.

2. Diamond Audio S600s HEX - silk tweeter model (available for about 340 USD)
Diamond Audio S600a/S600s HEX Reviews at CarReview.com
(manufacturer's site: Diamond Audio Technologies, LLC - HEX S600 - 6.5" Component Set )
A few people compared them to Focal's top-of-the-line Utopia!

For 15K I'd audition the Infinty Kappa, Hertz Hi-Energy, Illusion Audio, Alpine Type R, Rainbow, Diamond, maybe Focal (someone told me they got the 165V1 for about 15K) and maybe even DLS (LBM do you think the Reference series will come under 15K?).
