many thanks in advance.
It is more than six months now.

BURN IN - nothing permanent. But you may see image retention for few minutes once you power off the TV. That too you will see it only if you look for it. It does not affect the normal viewing at all.

POWER - Negligible change.

HEAT - Only if you stand with in 6-12 inches from the TV. Beyond that you can't make out anything.

PV80 is one of the most value for money purchase I have done in recent past.

Guys, need some suggesion pls. I have a Philips Projection TV 55" Pixel Plus 2 bought about 4 yrs ago. We are planning to move into a new house now & there is no place for this huge TV.

Is there any way I can exchange this for a Plasma/LCD TV (Panny/LG look good based on the offer)

I know I might get some ridiculosly low prices (having bought @ 1.25L) but I may not have an option to keep it anymore. What can I expect for my TV in such an xchange deal & which shops in BLR please?

I would say that you'll get much better deal if you sell it yourself directly to a consumer instead of going through Exchange offers. They( electronic shops) will give you peanuts for your set most of the time.

What model number is it? i might be interested as long as they are perfect for SD and DVD.Not too keen on LCD/Plasma right now cause ill just jump to the LED backlit panels in a few years time.

Well, the Kolkata e-zones still have PV8 in stock for sure. I bought one last Sunday for 43K with a free HDMI cable.
(Many thanks to shuvc for his help!!)

Sounds funny, but could it be that the resolution is measured along the width?

Just read news that Pioneer is shutting down production for KURO Plasmas!. They will be manufacturing the last 3000 units and offer support/maintenance for next 8 yrs.

Whats the probability that the 508XG can be bought at a discount ?!? or would demand for the Kuro defer such a move.

Old news. They had announced this last year itself.

I think most of it is going to get consolidated under Panasonic..

Sony LCD TV KLV-32T400A - Is it any good?

Hi, There is a person selling a week old Sony LCD KLV-32T400A for 25k. It's approx. 31,500 in the shops here. The tv is still in it's original packing unopened - Do you think it's a good buy?

Has anyone heard anything negative about the model? I read that it has some good speakers and a woofer and has decent picture quality. It's not HDTV compatible but HDTV ready (not sure what this means),

What is the best thing I can buy ( LCD / Plasma ) in a budget of 25 - 30K.

I have a small bedroom and want a LCD now to replace my existing Sony WEGA 21''.

I think 32 would be a tad too big. I would think 26'' is a good size for my room.

What brand guys ? I have no clue.

LG Scarlet or Samsung or Sony ?
