Almost purchased a Samsung 32 EH5000 today @ INR 34,500. However, decided to post it here to get some comments on pros and cons. Didn't want to take a hasty decision as I know little about TVs (Only this thread, really). It had everything I thought I need - Full HD, 1 USB Port, 2 HDMI Ports and good sound.
I have decided against plasma and LCD based on what I have read on this thread.

Please let me know any cons on this model. The same model in 40" is being offered at INR 51,900.

Speaking of these new brands, the other day I was in Reliance Digital @ Mantri mall. They had a 47" LED Reconnect placed in between a Sony and a Samsung of the same size.

A full HD video was being streamed on all the TV's and believe me the Reconnect was perfect, in fact the blacks were blacker than the blacks displayed on the Sony and the Samsung.

Funny part was the Reconnect was priced exactly 50% of the Sony and about 70% of the Samsung. While Sony and Samsung offered 1yr warranty, Reconnect came with 2 yrs warranty.

Of course if you don't want the Smart TV features of the Samsung, I would say it looked to be a good budget buy provided it lasts as long.

One sore point was that this TV was at 50 Hz while the Samsung/Sony were at 100Hz, so not sure if it will make a difference when you are watching fast motion videos.

Would be good if anyone owning this brand can give his/her feedback.

You know what, I got the ST50 two weeks back for 102K. And looking at the posts here, I think I paid 10k extra! Also, ppl going for the ST50 should have a close look at the panels for "dithering". My panel shows a little bit of it, however I have to look at other panels to see how much is too much since apparently its the limitation of the technology and is present on all plasmas.

Hey folks, Sorry about the misleading prices of this year's models a few pages ago. Not exactly sure who messed up, me or the shop guy. My impression was the quotes were for 50 series, but they're more indicative of 30 series. BTW, Bangalore panasonic dealer (Dickenson road shop) was selling 42UT30 for around 41K without glasses last week. Not sure if they still have any around. He also quoted 53K without glasses for 42ST30. Take the quotes FWIW, once bitten and all that.

Everyone needs to step up and reconfirm and identify the model/city where they want the deliveries so that we pose a definite question to the Pana guys. I'm going to recap where we stand as of today -

1) 65" in VT50, GT50 & ST50 is not available at all. 65" is only available in VT30.
My opinion is that it seems highly unlikely that Panasonic has not brought in the latest series in 65". I think that to prevent cannibalization of 65VT30, they will release it once the existing stocks of VT30 dwindle to an acceptable level.

2) 42ST50 - Rs. 76, 000/-

3) 50ST50 - Rs 92,000/-

I believe that with 50ST30 Panasonic is going to be offering Panasonic's SC XH170 - home theater system - 5.1 channel as a freebie (subject to availability).

What!

What are the better 65"+ options under 3L? My viewing distance is about 8meters (300" or 25'). Anything less than 65" and I would be staring at a postage stamp.
