Was it any good? It doesn't look any cheaper than the better models in Amazon india.

It was excellent. The performance was much better than Roomba models available for a similar price. I could switch it on using the app from office, and it would clean the home by the time I reached back. I picked the model without the mopping functionality. The person who bought it from me had used multiple
robot vacuum cleaners, and said that MI was the most reliable, and that servicing after warranty period was difficult for all brands.

Oh Yes I have the Mi model at home with Mopping function. Does a great job.
But then I am in Singapore- the dust level is generally much less compared to what we see in India.

Thanks checked this model. It has a very weird locking mechanism and also the jar has rubber gasket. How are these two holding up? How is the noise while operating?

My wife is scpetical if the locking mechanism and rubber gasket will hold up.

Been with us since 2014. Looks good.

We bought a second one for another house as well.

Locking mechanism is super.

Noise levels are at par with any other machine.

Yeah, ours refuses to die too. Been a decade almost. Bought another for the in-laws, as well.

Re: The Home Appliance thread

Okay guys, I don’t think I will be lucky with a robot vacuum without duty hit from aliexpress.

So which is a good economical buy in Amazon? Any suggestions? I see a few brands trending like the iLife and the ecovacs.

How is Mi priced in Amazon? Or is it not available in India?

I have another friend of mine using this. I think this is one of the best in the market at the moment. I did look out a lot before purchasing one here in Singapore.

I checked out ILIFE in their Bangalore office at ORR, which is a walking distance away. I was unimpressed with suction.
So, I ordered Mi Vaccum Cleaner at Sharesave app. This is a Mi owned app. The prices are inclusive of custom duty. Most importantly, buying through this method gives one year manufacture warranty.
On the flipside, while I have placed ordered around Christmas, it is not yet shipped. I learnt from email communication that it is out of stock and they will ship only by end of January!
So, I am patiently waiting.

Yeah, not sold by MI India. Some import options only. How much did this cost you in Singapore? Let me see if it’s available in KL.

Thanks for the iLife tip off. Looks like most of the amazon reviews are scams. I will look up the sharesave app. Sounds like a group buy thing?

The karcher w3 was also an option, but I know we will never use it beyond a day or two, lugging that thing around and plugging it in and out of sockets. Not going to happen. Plus it looks huge.

iLife isn't all bad. It offers both vacuuming and wet mopping functions. This is not offered by Mi.
Just to put things in perspective, it has half the suction (850) and half the battery (2600 mAH) compared to Mi (1800, 5200 mAH).
Also, one can buy individually by paying a nominal 300 rupees.

By some luck, I have WD3 since 2015. Used twice for Diwali cleaning only.

Haha on the karcher. Well, you live and learn, and live some more.

I thought the MI does mopping too. See the posts above by KL and Vibbs.

Re: The Home Appliance thread

It's the roborock S6 model and costed SGD 570 odd after some discounts.

This is the one. Has mopping function as well. The earlier models don't have mopping.
