Got my SX20 today. The vendor had thrown in some extra touches, like a free 8GB card (In addition to the one I had ordered) and some gimmicky lens cleaning kit because he had accepted more orders for this camera than he could fulfill, so it was backordered for a while. Someone else has asked me to get one for her, but I am now unable to find it for the price I got it for ($349) anywhere.

good man, see if you can verify the pic quality claims. also see if you have issues in zooming in/out while fliming HD movies. somebody said you can hear a sound when that happens.

Yes there is a sound, of the lens zooming in and out. You can hear it here ,I took a random video today morning :

I dont think it will bother me, because the video will mostly be used for short durations amongst a group of people, and I dont think it can be heard over the chitchat.

Edit : The video is shot in 720p, which you can see if you click on the link on top of the video.

How is Panasonic FZ35 compared to Sony H50/B? Both have almost the same zoom 18X(FZ) versus 150(H50). Pricing is way apart for these products.
22k for Sony versus 28K for Panasonic.

Guys I was finally able to go out shooting pics with my new Olympus 590UZ. The following pic is a downgraded (to decrease the file size) resolution pic, I managed to click in a garden near to my place. The camera has very good day light performance but in low light like any other P&S it suffers a bit.

Well, I used a mode where you can soften the background while focus on a particular thing. The butterfly was almost 10 ft away from me. The pic is in 12M pixel and the original resolution is 3968x2976.

Ordered my SX20IS from Amazon, the wait begins now

@Sajo- I loved the video quality

@rjvohra - It seems you are looking for a DSLR, you can look for a Nikon D3000 (25.5k) or a Canon 1000D (25k). Both of these are Pune prices with Official B&W.

D5000 for 25.5k?

You must have meant D3000.

Hello guys.I have decided to buy Panasonic Lumic DMC FZ35 this weekend. I enquired about the product in the Panasonic shwroom in Rajajinagar and they have quoted 27500/- (after discount of 1.5k) + manufacturer warranty + 2GB Memory card and camera pouch. Please advice if this is fair deal or do i need to bargain for something more. Also please advice if i can get a better deal anywhere else in Bangalore.
