Re: The Headphones Thread

Picked up Bose QC35 very recently and I'm simply amazed at the level of noise cancelling this one does. It is very ideal for those long travel hours!

Re: The Headphones Thread

These are my absolute favourites. The QC35 received an update in October, did you get those? It gets Google Assistant and now allows users to control the strength of the noise cancellation. I think battery is updated as well, not sure.

Re: The Headphones Thread

I need a wired headphone (budget 5-6k) with an excellent mic and foam tips for noise isolation.

I currently have the Mee Audio M6 Pro. Their noise isolation is very good, even in cabs or in noisy offices, but the mic is so far away from the face and not good enough that I cannot take conference calls on it without being immediately called out for bad audio.

I decided against getting one with the Google Assistant. The older QC35's got a price drop and I did not wanted to miss it!

Got the Sony ZX770BN on a promotional sale at FNAC in Paris for 100 euros. Pretty decent performance for the price paid.

Re: The Headphones Thread

New Sony WH-1000xM2 is about to be launched in Indian market, on amazon existing Sony MDR-1000X model is consistently being listed for cheaper price, in last few days i have seen price range between 20 - 23k. Good price level to buy one

Looks like they include a lot of good quality accessories for 310$. Looks good for desktop use.

Got myself a pair of B&W P7 wireless this week. They are a little heavy compared to Bose QC35 but sounds awesome!!!! Soft leather to touch and tight fit. If you like crystal clear sound and your music a little bright this one is for you.

I've heard a lot about the P7 wireless but sadly couldn't audition them. I did audition the wired ones though cause I wanted to compare them to the 99 classics. They are definitely good but I just prefer how the 99 sound and to me sound was more important than bluetooth or no-bluetooth.

I wanna check out the PX as well. Very positive reviews.

Just sharing a pic of some really cool and expensive head gear

Re: The Headphones Thread

Speaking of cool and expensive headgear, I had an interesting day, which included my first experience of Stax and a Focal Utopia.

The Utopia was simply... Utopian!

I've always thought of Stax as being the last word in headphones, at least up until the recent fashion for $,$$$-plus headphones. Well, the two that I listened to were indeed amazing, and no, I wouldn't say no, but I think the Utopia is more dream-worthy.

However, perhaps because its faults are uniquely matched to my high-frequency hearing loss, I have my heart set on a pair of Sennhheiser HD800s, and, new or used, I do intenm one day, to have a pair.

In the meantime, the HD600s have been damned fine headphones for twenty years, and they still are. And, albeit 10% of Utopia's lofty price, according to my economy, HD600s are not exactly cheap!
