I recently landed at Delhi and decided to travel by metro (probably a mistake), when I reached my brother’s home, I was in a rude shock that I had dropped my phone somewhere. Decided to locate it on my Indian phone through “Find my phone” app, and found it moving, so probably someone flicked it from the pocket, since I was traveling with luggage. Then probably someone switched it off at a certain location and since last 3 days it’s at the same location. Already filed FIR with IMEI number and have put the phone in lost mode.

Have got the mail from Apple for deactivating all my connected cards through Apple Pay.

Anyway is there any thing else I can do, there’s a ton of data on the phone with international SIM card, is there anyway someone can access the phone ? Or any possibility to retrieve the phone somehow.

Damn with this pollution and lost phone, it wasn’t a great time visiting India

Just for additional safety, manually block the debit cards frequently used by you stored on the phone by calling each banks helpline.

I believe Find My works even with power off, you can check with Apple just to be sure.

Never take public transport in India if you have better options available. If you must take, stick to pre paid taxis from the airport as those are safer (relatively.)

I would highly recommend Anker compared to the OEM Apple charging products. It's less than half the price and works as good as Apple if not better.

Its my believe that they sell more than Apple chargers.

I always keep a couple of 20W Anker chargers which come for around $20 bucks and they are super fast in charging.

In about 1.5 hours my phone is juiced up from 20%-100%.

Nope. It cannot be related to the 20W Anker chargers that I use as I have been using it for a few years and it was used with my previous iPhones (14 promax, 13 promax and even 12 Promax) and none had battery degradation to this extent.

Observing sudden heating on the 16 Pro, after usage of 15-20 mins at a stretch, specifically X (Twitter) and Instagram. Been using the phone for just about a month now; battery otherwise is holding up much better than my 15 Pro. Came across many reviews which have highlighted the heating issue on the 16 Pro; not sure why Apple isn't doing anything for better heat dissipation. Phones at a fraction of it's cost have no heat issues, so this is just unsavoury, frankly.

I noticed severe heating while setting up the phone, updating the software etc. But on daily use, it's pretty fine.

Also I found the volume to be on the lower side.

My previous Nothing Phone never had this issue.

Volume is actually quite good; in comparison to my 15 Pro. Not sure about the Android competitors however.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question, have asked my wifey’s niece to get an iphone and a few other products from the US. The question is how do we pay her in USD? Is there an option with Western union or for that she has to have a western union account? The amount in question is about 1500-1700 USD, so its not a big amount. I have my savings account with icici, so not sure if i have any option to transfer money internationally. The last option is to convert INR to USD locally and then hand it over to her in person when she comes to india, but that also means additional forex charges which is a bit of an added expense. Any inputs would be welcome, thanks.

1) Buy (pay) it online yourself, and have it shipped to her (all you have to do is enable international transactions on your credit card, you can do so instantly via NetBanking). WhatsApp will stop working on these older iPhone models for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.

The messaging app will require iOS 15.1 or later to function which means users of older iPhones, which cannot update beyond iOS 12.5.7, will need to upgrade their devices or switch to a newer model to continue using WhatsAp.

Such a pity ! I’m sure we’ll be having many folks with perfectly working 6 / 6s’s and have to let go their phones cause of this stupidity.

I for one use my iPhone 7 as a secondary phone which does the job pretty well, albeit with a poor battery backup (78% health). I’m sure this phone will come under the axe in 2025!

Moreover, the reason I’m still using this phone is due to its sheer compact size which is a rarity today. It’s a pleasure to the 7 !

You can transfer money through WU but the exchange rates are pretty exorbitant, the plus point is the receiver can get the money instantly, you will have to provide some identity number which the receiver will have to show while claiming the money. No account or anything is needed with WU. I have only used it once when someone got stuck in Germany during a blizzard and needed quick cash, bottom line good during emergency.

The other way I transfer money to US/EU or any country outside of India is through PayPal, which doesn't have much exchange charges. But I’m not sure how it works from India.

I suspect whatsapp will continue to work if is already installed. For some reason, if you reset the phone, you won't be able to install it again.
