I'd suggest turning it off and put it in rice bag for 24 hours. Should be back to normal by then.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I jumped in a 6 feet deep pool with my iPhone 12 mini in my pocket, and upon realising got the phone out of my pocket and pat dried it to make sure all water gets out of it. It worked fine but 3 hours later when I plugged it in for charging I got this message, kept the phone vertically and tried using microfibre to clean/dry the connector but not sure if that was effective. It started charging normally when plugged in after an hour.

So, paid option it is. Can you guys please suggest some nice way to transfer Whatsapp data to iOS form Android without selling my kidney?
Try this guide.

Download beta version mentioned in this article. Install on android phone which should be straight forward. You don’t need to join beta program. Just search latest WhatsApp beta apk in google and download.
I haven’t used any paid software so can’t advice.

Interesting, it worked for you. I have tried all these options many times, still my wife' OP6 didn't want to show me the magic word in Move-To-iOS app.
With a risk of being thrown out of the house, trying with 3PP app Wutsapper, will update once is done.

NB: Just went through the twitter page, apparently the feature is enabled for selected few Beta users.

Wutsapper should work, I think I used this app only to transfer chats when I made the shift

As said by other users, keep the phone to dry and it should work few hours later.

MY iphone 12 mini went through an extreme water test.

A lazy weekend morning got up went with daily routines. I don't have the habit of checking the phone after alarm. Time went by had breakfast, thought of checking messages and started searching for the phone. On the table, sofa, tv stand, drawers (kid sometimes hide it after taking lot of random pics), bedroom and all the places I can recollect but couldn't find it. Wife too joined the search party and in parallel lecturing on my carelessness (wife gifted me that phone and was not even a month old)

Took my wife's phone and called my number. Can hear faint sound of the ringtone coming near the kitchen. We were confused as its highly unlikely we took the phone to kitchen. Where is the sound coming from?
Inside kitchen? No.
Balcony ? Yes.

I don't recollect going into the balcony. Kid might have hidden it? We went there and were in shock. Guess what - the sound was coming from washing machine in our dry balcony.

A washing cycle is completed and the cloths were ready to be dried. Immediately pulled out all the cloths and voila, still ringing. It was working perfectly. Took the phone, removed the case, using hair drier blown into the speaker, charging ports (no water came out I think the cloths had done a better job inside washing machine).

How did it land inside washing machine? RCA.
Phone was on the bed and while taking bedsheets for wash, my wife didn't realize that phone was there and she put them into the washing machine. I was lucky that I wasn't the one who did that.

Water proof test scenario
  • Washing machine - front load
  • Company - not relevant
  • Time for wash cycle: 45 min
  • Chemical used: Normal liquid detergent
  • Temperature: 30 degree Celsius
  • Spin: 1000rpm

After effects of the wash
  • Case color deteriorated, but still in good condition
  • Speaker sound was cracking due to water droplets. Once dried it was good
  • Camera - photos, recordings, video play - no difference
  • Its been 9 months and absolutely no issues with the phone (touchwood)

Important: Wife was happy that nothing happened to the phone and as advertised phone is water proof

Charging is working now. The issue simple disappeared without any intervention.

iPhones are water proof. Have used mine multiple times in the pool to take some amazing underwater videos

Never had a problem, except that for few hours, till the phone is not dried, the speakers don't work properly.

As ios16 has just been released and is still in developer beta stage, i doubt any banking apps will be configured, tested and would work properly on ios16. If this is your primary phone, would recommend to revert back on latest ios 15 version. The beta versions of ios are always buggy and unpredictable.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Need a recommendation for a case / cover for iPhone 13. I got 3 covers.

First was this, solid cover, absolute VFM, but since it turned yellow (and it looks bad on the white color) changed it.

Got myself a latercase (https://latercase.com/. It was not providing any protection to the chin part, it is not being used.

Then got a Spigen armored case, in 3 months, the edges have started to wear off. Please see the first image of the review, exactly that issue, have glued it for now, but need a case. Haven't dropped any of my phones ever, but still...I am an outdoor guy, fear damage, hence.

Maybe try an Apple case this time? The leather one looks the part too!

I am using this one from Egotude. Good grip while holding the phone plus transparent back. I have been using this from past 6 months and color has not turned yellow plus it has also protected from drops a few times.

Been using this for more than 9 months and this survived my washing machine test (post 14752 (The iPhone Thread) Slight change in color (due to washing test, not yellowing) however still flexible and my phone survived lot of drops both on edges and flat on screen falls

Re: The iPhone Thread

My wife got the Silicone case and I got the Leather one from Apple. Both feel super premium, looks super attractive and are super expensive.

Surprisingly, the silicone one is also a hard case. Both cases are slightly raised in the front. So I expect reasonable protection from drops.
