Something Strange!
All the free apps I have installed till date are visible in "My Market Account" when accessed through the Browser on PC!!
I have also uninstalled some, and some are still on.
But, again, the paid apps are not here..

Initial problem though is well, as same as before:
On device> Market> My Apps - All (currently) installed apps are not showing up, It only shows the ones installed 'through' market.

Holy TRolly!

Is Google playing Bakra with me or what!?

I cannot delete them, or clear data from Browser ?

I think we are very near to finding what the heckles is wrong!

You are welcome. Just backup everything first and charge it 100%
Go through it one step at a time, and leisurely.

Infact, the developer is now testing a full fledged ROM which can be flashed directly (I flashed a froyo Moto ROM, then dropped in GB-CM7).

You're welcome. They can be idiots while shipping. They have not yet sorted out their delivery process and are now samsung's official pre-booking partner. So better follow up with them. They *eventually* come through. Expect shipping in 5-7 days - they've grown much faster than their processes have.

Do specify the color in an email if you can. the black-black (licorice IIRC) looks more polished than the black-white one.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Ok, Google told me this:

Quote:
Its not about free apps..
its about the apps which I installed manually from external storage..
they are not showing up..
Any one??
This one guy has exactly worded the(/my) problem after the 15-20 guys above him are talking about the same thing!

Here it is:
Installed apps not showing up on my market list. - Android Market Help

So, it "is" a recognized problem!
(Phew, So I can expect it to be 'solved' soon!)

Anyway,

If anyone does come up with any workaround, please let me know.

Thanks again, (esp. dkaile)

Ace.

Just spent a couple of min reading up. You should do the following:
a. Post on [DEV][ROM] CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.4) - xda-developers if anyone has upgraded from the India Froyo update to CM7. That should reassure you.
b. Chillout and proceed anyways
Follow the steps in my link or the FAQ except installing a Froyo leak because you already ARE on froyo! You absolutely must backup anyways.
There are many regional versions on which CM7 has been seen to work. Since the India update is new, you may not find as many guys who've updated from it (most of us have upgraded from the eclair only!!). Its okay.
c. Worst case - it will not install and refuse to boot. I think that should not happen. Even if it does, then proceed to go as per my link - install the UK Froyo which I've installed successfully. And carry on as always.

At any step if post install (of CM7 or Froyo if u are coming from Eclair) it goes into an endless boot sequence, then take battery out, wipe cache/data (read FAQ/link) and restart.

You need not worry any more because you already have the SBFs of the eclair/froyo available on XDA to flash if anything doesn't work. So, you are perfectly safe in all scenarios.

CHARGE it to 100% BEFORE you START.

Ofc, PM/call me for any moral support if you're still not at ease

Thats the way it should work. Market only shows the apps that were installed though it. Similarly if you use Amazon market, it would only show apps / movies that were purchased though Amazon market.

Like I said,

That was not the case before I upgraded from 2.2 to 2.2.2!
Sideloaded apps were treated the same way as the apps which were downloaded through market.

Hence my posts, and so much hullaballoo

Well, I do see it "is" indeed a market and sync glitch!
I read some threads discussing that on google.

Android Market Web Site does not show all my installed apps on 'My Account --> Orders' - Android Market Help

There are workarounds, but, no one guarantees that which particular is a sureshot solution!

Let's see.

will keep trying!

DQ: Didn't you titanium backup before updating?
Yes, I do have the backup. (Not titanium, but "My Backup" as I am still without 'root' )
The backup-restore results in the apps loading automatically,
but still resulting in the same deep ditch of a problem!

Thanks guys,

Ace.

Then this is a bug that was fixed in market . These Apps should be visible in "Manage Applications", but not in Market.

Google would not know about update status of such apps. E.g. if I write my own App and do not push it to market, Google would not know when I distribute newer versions. Users can still install that App, but they will have to update manually.

Not sure how "update" functionality could have worked in market (prior to this change).

BTW : Look at https://market.android.com/details?i...sfire.appsfire this might help in locating updates for some of these apps.

Is there any other way to get into the recovery screen if the volume up rocker is not working on Motorola Milestone?

Wow, when did this happen? I didn't know Motorola had released Froyo from India. I was checking every day.

You are welcome. Funny thing is, when I first decided on Defy, phamilyman scared me off it citing the SAR figures. Upon further research I came back to it and bought it. Then phamilyman too changed his mind and bought on himself.

What is the real purpose of this backup? Say I have no data worth saving on my Defy, why should I backup?

It never updates the uninstalled apps on market promptly. But it allows you to re install in case you need it.

That's not much of a problem really,

I have a different phone and I have not experienced this before. But if any of those sideloaded apps are there in the market, can you try installing from market? I know the apps were discovered automatically before you updated to 2.2.2, just trying to see if market tries discover it by any chance at least when it's trying to install it again.
