But, where is the "dalvik" situated? I have /cache.

Edit: - I have even replaced the default droidsansfallback.ttf font with a font containing additional Indic fonts. This displays hindi and Malayalam (and other Indic languages too), without proper rendering though.
I have been looking for a font to replace the default font to read Malayalam. Could you please send that ttf over? will pm you.

Dalvik cache folder is inside cache.

clevermax :-

DroidSans Fallback Indic Font Here - xda-developers

http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...0&d=1286103799

Let me know if you have problems downloading / not a member @ xda.

Edit:- Please note that none of ROMs support Indic versions - so be prepared for ka-ray-lam instead of proper കേരളം.

The Mods use Lohit fonts - which are GPLed fonts currently maintained by Red Hat

If this is happening on Froyo take a backup of your data and do a factory reset. It might solve the problem.
Looks like some issue with Juice Defender appl, uninstalled it and problem resolved!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a Motorola Defy. The call logs in this phone dont show the exact time stamp. Instead they just show, 1 hour ago, 2 hours ago, yesterday, 2 days ago, etc. I find it difficult (impossible) at times if I have to use the time stamp to establish something. Is there an app that will help me see the exact time stamp the way lesser phones show.

The OEM software? The ADW launcher dialer has this option of "Exact timing"

The new CM7.1 has a brilliant battery life. For the first time, my phone battery is at 63% after 12 hours off charging. Normally it would be in the 30s of 40s MAX!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a question.

I use Outlook at work place. I would like to check emails that i get on my business email id. One way i am doing right now is to forward the emails on that id to my gmail id and get gmail in my galaxy s. But when i reply to that email, it shows my gmail id.

Is there any app or a way so that when i reply from galaxy s phone, i use my business email id?

Example: Blackberry has its own site blackberry.net where in the settings can be configured such that when you reply to the forwarded email, it takes ur business id.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

umm, galaxy SL and most android phones' "email" application connects nicely to outlook servers DIRECTLY! Just set it up right!

Isn't forwarding office mail to your gmail against company policies?

Your office uses ms exchange server? We are outlook users at office but it's not exchange server yet. So a simple imap configuration is enough for us. Enable push mail if you are using a mail client like K-9 and you get mails instantly.

Btw, does the default email client in Android support exchange server configuration?

first off, check if your policies allow accessing mails on non company devices.

If so, your andro client, buit in, needs just the pop/smtp details, password, username etc etc.
in fact most clients on the market need the same.
otherwise, if security is paramount, your office would configure a BB for you.(just quoting what happens with me)

It works if ActiveSync is set up, or at least that's the config my company has and it works for both iphone/androids.

Yes it does. But with several limitations. Unlike nokia or Apple the email client can help you read mails, respond with a signature but does not allow you to get details of your contacts.

The Contacts from your Corporate server will display only email id.

Nokia or Apple does that beautifully and its a great pain in Android to call your buddy to check the phone number and pass it on to you when you are on the move.

In high end android phones atleast the email application is stable and provides options to even browse the various folders you may have.

But the lower end android phones do not have the latest email client and struggle a lot to do active sync.
