Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hmm.... looks better spec'ed that my mini/pop S5570. You can also consider the newly launched 5360 with a faster processor, but 3 inch screen.

Dell, however seems to have a better screen density and camera. What about service?

I've shortlisted Dell's XCD35 which has a 3.5" screen and v2.2 (froyo). Its got pretty much all the regular features so wanted to check with you all if it is a good buy at 8200/-? (after 500 cashback from flipkart). Or is there any other phone that I should be considering?
I also checked this phone but found the battery backup to be too low. I am unable to comment on other features.

I thought people here would tell me that.

Another thing that I read in a couple of reviews was the battery heating up too much during charging and after being on call for too long, this isn't a good sign.

Thanks. Did you format your SD card prior to rooting? I have my apps installed on SD Card.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am having one wierd problem with my SGS. The internet browser doesn't open any web pages while using airtel data network but accesses everything through WIFI. All other internet functionality works, like maps, FB, chat, market, etc., but the problem is only with the browser. I downloaded Firefox and that works fine, but I don't like the phone version of Firefox. I am on Rs.98 plan from airtel and Gingerbread 2.3.3. Please help!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

OK,

I have an SGS2 KF3 stock rooted with CF-root.

Now because of policies of our BYOD services in organization, I am required to remove (or unroot) my device.

Does anyone know how do I go about it without losing my data?

Or flashing a new (or original KF3) ROM the only option?

Thanks!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I found a really nice application for Android and sharing the same.

App: iOnRoad

Experience dynamic augmented reality driving and real-time collision detection
iOnRoad delivers a visual radar by combining realtime day/night machine vision with sensor fusion. iOnRoad then calculates the time gap and collision potential with other vehicles and warns of high risk events.

Sorry, it was a long time back and I can't remember if I did it then. I do always take a back up (titanium) and copy that on to my laptop before playing with the phone.

I have the same KF3 based kernel.

Flash the original KF3 - get in from XDA - I did it once and lost root. So that works for sure.

Did it work without you losing your data (non-wipe flash?) Any FCs, problems?

Adding to that one never losses any sought of data by flashing kernals. Data loss happens with installing rom if its a wipe version.

Oh, one question i forgot to ask; is it original KF3 ROM that you flashed or just the kernel?

Stock firmware - got it from here - [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG1/2/3/5/6/7, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8 Download - xda-developers - in post no. 2

You can flash the stock kernel to get rid of that yellow triangle which appears on boot after you have rooted your phone.
