Well, I tried once and I got an SMS. But, when I click on the link it says my phone(HTC Legend) is not supported. Since my phone is not supported, I didn't bother to check for other alternatives to install the game.

Air Control Lite is the free version. The full version is paid. The lite version by itself is quite addictive and fun!

Oh ya right. My bad missed that. But the lite itself gives you access to 2 maps and 2 types of games (normal/cargo), so should keep one engaged.

Thanks I saw that. Seems like a very complex and risky procedure.

Doesn't anybody here have any experience with letsbuy.com ? The discounts are tempting, but reviews seem to be very negative about the site. After going thru them, its very difficult to have any confidence in the site. For more, check on Mouthshut and elsewhere.

They also don't have the the most interesting phones, which are not even so new now - Motorola Quench, Optimus One... in fact, even Samsung Galaxy 3 isn't listed! So the stock is very limited. They didn't even bother to reply an email query.

Well, the first time you do, it is going to be a nerve wrecking experience. But it is pretty easy, from second time. trick is to know the recovery procedure before diving into these mods.

I switch to a new rom/kernal almost every week. wish a cm thread like that existed for sgs.

Can you please explain why it so? Is it because of the "first time, can I do it" fear the first time round?

And how easy / difficult is it to et the phone bricked?

Edit:- Would the phone check integrity of the file offered as update? Ie, if the file was corrupted during the download process?

Its a different story on the IPod Touch 2G, works like a charm. Have bought it for 0.99 cents from the Apple store.
To play angry birds on galaxy 3 a little better do the following
1). use app killer and then optimize the RAM using any RAM Booster
use APNDroid and turn off all APN, including the GPRS

The game would run much smoother and without ads

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

After much deliberation I have bought an LG P500 a.k.a Optimus One / Thunder.

Reason? I decided don't want to spend 20K+ on a new phone now. I want something with push mail, Facebook notifications and other basic features. Among the lower-end phones, it boiled down to Xperia X8, X10 Mini and Optimus One. X8 seems to have only 168MB RAM, and X10 Mini has a lower resolution (which makes me concerned about app compatibility).

Among these, the Optimus One seems to pack the best bang for buck - 320 X 480 resolution, 600Mhz processor, 512MB RAM, 3 megapixel camera, and most importantly FROYO off the shelf!

Price: 13K. First went to Univercell, he gave me some bull about the phone being highly in demand and I have to pay an advance and wait for a week blah blah blah. Next stop at Wavetel (now Sangeetha), the guy had the phone. Tried it, liked it, bought it!
