This is simply too cool and just too awesome

I am very skeptical about the SIRI working for indian accent. The voice function in Samsung works decently well for our accent.

Hope it works well for us indians as well.

I may still pick a samsung over a Iphone for the flexibility of trying out so many roms and making it feel like owning a gadget that requires the owner to spend some time in the system doing geeky stuff. It could be a very simple rooting and change of rom but still gives that satisfaction of doing crazy stuff.

Rooted the S2 via the CF root method.

Installed Titanium backup and replaced the Google Maps to help navigate

The voice control works very good as one of you said, infact am getting hooked to it.

Let's see - I am hoping to wait for a month atleast before I try out the various custom ROMS. The only thing holding me back is the thought that with a custom ROM - something or the other might not work properly.

ps - the GPS latches on to satellites in a flash on this phone. I am impressed !

I don't think wildon is asking for auto reject with Sms, may be this is what he wants:

I hope you realize the logical fallacy in your statement!

Here is Apple, which has truly been at the forefront of UI innovation in phones for the last 4 years and you are skeptical that their latest technology will be behind the technology Samsung shipped 4-5 months back?

Samsung isn't known for their cutting edge software either.

For starters, they should scrap Touchwiz and instead buy licenses for HTC Sense which is arguably the nicest android interface around (so should Motorola as well, IMHO!).

So therefore, you may just wish to wait and watch - the only thing I'd expect from Apple is that they would prioritize development of an Indian accent database in the end, the way they release their phones last in India! But they're sure technically at the very top!

Hello Folks,

I want to install the CM 7.1 on my Galaxy S2.

Can someone please clarify the below.

1. I want to have the official firmware aswell, just in case some fine day I want to go back to official firmware. I should be able to update through KIES at that stage.

2. I was reading through the guide as listed on http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sam...l_Update_Guide there is no mention of rooting the device. Do I need to do? Kindly help me with this.

3. Is it possible to reset the counter if at all I have an issue with the H/W? If so how?

4. Last but not least, kindly suggest the easiest possible way to update to CM 7.1

The battery performance of CM 7.1 is lot better. Checkout my battery status after 20 hours, it is still at 56%. Usually it would be in the red by 20 hours, that is below 15%.

My samsung galaxy s2 keeps shutting down or restarting automatically. I tried to disable all the additional apps but still the s2 has a mind of its own. A bit of googling suggested that it's a hardware issue in some lots. Has anyone faced this problem ? If in USA I think we can go to the store and get a replacement. But in India I am skeptical they will replace the phone. Any pointers would greatly help. Thanks.

Today ESET detected a Virus on both my Android Phones (LG Optimus One P500 and Nexus S)

virus called Android/Spy.GoldDream.B

The apps infected were:

1. Funny Dots - ABC (On Nexus S)
2. KidTv (On Nexus S)
3. Indian Music Explorer (on LG Optimus One P500)
