Currently I am using a SE non smart phone. The 5230 was purchased as a gift for my fiance, I just played with it for a few days before gifting it to her.

I have not used a Bada or Android phone extensively, but Symbian S60 definitely feels outdated compared to these 2. But unless you are a tech-freak, it should not matter much.

Yes, I know that model is in the pipeline. But it has the same S60 5th edition and they have downgraded video recording to 15 fps and they have put a stupid 5 MP cam without autofocus!! How lame can Noka get? Hardly sounds like even an upgrade to the 5230/5235, except that it may be bit thinner and hopefully better looking (cant tell from pics) And we all know - just higher MP does not equate to pic quality. So even after it is released, I'd wait for reviews to start coming. Not sure if I can wait that long. :(

I'm hoping Huawei Ideos will be released soon. They had announced it would be released in India this month. If it is around 5 k as announced, I may consider it for the short term while I wait for something better to come out.

any firmware upgrades for the following?
It isn't possible as of now. Yes, it is possible by a firmware upgrade but haven't heard anything on that for even bada 2.0.

Hey Wavers. I finally got my Samsung Wave S8500 last week. So be ready to answer and help me customize my wave. First up, how do I connect my bluetooth headset to my phone, because everytime I try doing it the phone asks for a 3-5 digit password which is possible if I am connecting to another phone but not possible to enter password from the bluetooth device. Please any insights regarding this.
Thanks.

A good news for Mac users. Samsung has released Kies Mini for Mac users.

Samsung Wave S8500 - Software & Manuals - Support - Samsung Mobile India

I don't have access to my Mac machine right now, can someone try this and see how it works?

Assuming you flashed your phone with the LEAKED version of 1.2 firmware, wait for official release from Samsung. Probably it is a bug in this unofficial leaked firmware.

Look up in the user manual of the bluetooth device. The password is pre programmed, it is generally 11111.

Hey. I just got lucky. In fact after i bought mine I received two calls from dealers who had sparely used pieces ( 1 month old,2 month old sets for 16-16.5/-). I had given my cell number to a lot of dealers for this beauty.

+1. Flipkart.com is just too good. I had ordered mine in the evening and got the cell delivered at the doorstep the next morning .

Augmented Reality games for Samsung Wave

Friends, have you tried ARDefender and Kickball AR games? These are augmented reality games. Really good games to show off to others. These games use camera to combine the real world and virtual world. It's just awesome. Check out these videos.

This is when i try to open any message or try to open any application or game. There is enough memory being displayed as per the memory status for both memory card and phone. Further there are no applications running in the background.
What can be the problem guys. Please HELP!!

Try rebooting the phone. That should help clear memory. I use a Java app to free some memory every now and then.

Download MemoryUp Professional - Mobile Memory Booster for Samsung GT S8500 Wave

If nothing works, try hard reset (make sure you backup all your contacts, data etc) or wait till bada 1.2.

Samsung has improved the memory management a lot in bada 1.2. Once it comes, you won't have these problems. Hang on till then.
