Now that you guys have mentioned it, I took a look at the bike - it has a TN 02 registration, which is Chennai North-West.

I think I know the place, it is KUN Hyundai's stockyard in Ambattur Industrial Estate. It's a big open ground shared with other KUN dealerships (BMW, Isuzu etc.), located behind the buildings in the picture (with the blue and silver cars).

The stockyard shares the entrance (the gate in the picture) with Cookie Man's local manufacturing unit that churns out yummy Aussie cookies.

I dont think so the marked lines are DRLs. I have verna 2014 and it has white piece of plastic running on top of the cluster. Hence by seeing the color we can safely presume even Elite i20 has the same white plastic cladding running on the top.

Yes You are right. Even i think the lines running on the bottom may be DRLs. the Size looks similar to what i have in my car. Thickness and some fine impressions makes me feel the one running on the bottom of headlamps are the the DRLs.

Not a fan of the new design.
In fact I hate cars which has its headlight bulging out from the body like a frog's eye. They might look good from front, but looks sick from the sides and more susceptible to scratches and breakage. I for one didn't like this so called new version. Kind of disappointed with Hyundai since they mostly improve the cars with every facelift barring the Shrek Verna and the Transform. Interiors are best in class though. IMO a full black interior would have just taken it up a couple of levels.

The current i20 has double barrel lights for high and low beam. Wonder why they went backwards to single headligth bulb like the first gen i20.

Thanks for posting these pics in the forum. The doubts that I have been having about the design of the new i20 are done and dusted now.

All the other pics of posted previously appeared 'stretched' to me. I guess what I felt was right. Those pics appear to be stretched indeed which is why the hood appeared much longer than what it actually is. That explains the flurry of negative comments in the forum about the car's frontal looks and proportions. The white i20 in this pic looks much better, balanced and muscular. Did I say those taillights are stunning?

Overall the car looks great.

The front could have been given more thought as it looks it has been stretched way more than it should.

The rear is the best designed part of the car with Elantra like taillights making its way on to the Elite i20.

Interiors seems to be inspired from the German luxury cars and the quality would be top notch.

What remains a concern would be the suspension set up and the price at which Hyundai wants to sell this car. Overlapping is very much a possibility and it would be interesting to see if people would go for Xcent or the new i20 if priced similar to the xcent.

But why does it need such a long bonnet? Maximum space they would need is space for the 1.4L diesel.

Unless the new tuning division they were planning has some big engine upgrade in the pipeline.

Further to my post on new specs / features (post 275 - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3495466) which raised quite a few doubts regarding the authenticity, we now have access to the official color booklet for the i20.

The official brochure will come our way by Thursday and official price list by 9/10th (fingers crossed).

For me, this car hits on the negative side more than positive. First of all, the design is nothing great. The Grand i10 looks far far better. And too much of beige influence on the interiors! Just can't seem to like it. Too many black-beige combinations at multiple places.

The previous i20 & even the Grand i10 has an identity of it's own, with respect to the interiors. This one looks like a straight lift from BMW - especially the top of the centre console.

Regarding new i20
Interiors = BMW
Rear tail = Audi
Not complaining but only wish they had a Mercedes A class influenced front. Imagine what a combo it would have been.

Did anyone notice how Hyundai is discarding the FE display option in the MID for both the new Grand and Elite i models. Seems that dont want any negative feedback from test drives. Already the current i20 is low on FE in real time when compared to the Swift and the likes.

Agree! Grand i10 looks far more balanced. But i think the pictures of the i20 shown here are from weird angles and that is what is making the car look disproportionate. Official pictures should reveal the actual design! Also the beige interiors is overdone.

It resembles the interior of a car which costs almost 3 times more! How is this a bad thing???
