No Sirjee, they are not wheel caps. It is an alloy wheel.

Hopefully your words come true. 90PS can be expected.

Lol. They'll get lost outside the showroom.

OT:

I just remembered someone asking about this site and credibility. Looks that they have placed their computer with a camera just in the road outside the Maruti factory.

Are they planning to launch the 1.6L petrol Swift Sport? The pics does not look like the Sport though.

Maruti does'nt believe in Global nomenclature of their cars. So dont expect the Sport variant to be the same in powertrain as seen in other markets.

I really hope the good folks at Gaaadiwaadi noticed the disc brakes at the rear wheels because I can't seem to find any from those snaps. Can see the clear ground through the spokes of the alloys. The global Swift Sport gets a different front grill a la the Audi RS. This seems to be the one from the current models.

I hope Maruti isn't planning to do another RS version with this one!

Anurag.

Can't figure out alloy wheels or wheel caps in my tiny iPhone 4s display.

But Sirjee? Who's that? Talking to me?

And the person who expressed questions about the site is again me- in the Ciaz thread. As I mentioned there, noticing them now only with the brilliant Ciaz scoops. Looks like the have got a good vantage point of the MSIL factory.

Rear disc brakes are clearly visible in the following snap. That can be ground seen through spokes

Are you suggesting whatever is visible through the spokes - those are the calipers or the rotors? I guess time will only tell.

The gaadiwaadi folks need to invest in a nice telephoto lens first.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

Sorry to dampen spirits, but I dont think that's a disc brake at the rear. I can safely bet on it. What is seen through the spokes is the drum brake with its flange that is attached to the rear suspension arm. Guess this can be a 90Bhp version and maybe with the K14 for petrol, but that is not a disc brake at the rear. Moreover, as everyone says the alloys look horrible. I thought it was a wheel cap and after a second look, I came to know those were alloys But thats a 16 incher for sure.

Shortly we can expect Maruti Suzuki to raise their compound walls to save themselves from these guys. Wish I had such a manufacturer next door, or at least in the area

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

As a lot of people have already commented - Is it that difficult to design a good looking alloy?!! But if this car has a 90 bhp engine, that 30K for a remap can be used for buying a good alloy wheel!

Looks like the red is first gen Swift red called "Bright Red". It doesn't look like the current gen red to me. But it's a different question whether it suits this car.

Blasphemy!

When they give us 90hp stock, we can dream of 110hp, 250-260Nm remapped. And if it has rear disks, no need to worry about stopping power either!

Just imagine what a simple RD box could do a Swift 90hp. Gives me the goosebumps for sure!

Cmon, you did NOT take my word (using the 30K for alloy wheels instead of a remap) seriously, did you?! "Boys will be boys"!

That looks like the calipers but again the picture is not clear to be sure

90Hp version for which Petrol or Diesel?

I don't think there is any chance of a petrol 90 HP version because if the use the 1.4 litre K-series swift will lose the small car benefit and it is highly unlikely that Maruti will go that way. It will significantly increase the price as excise duty staightway goes from 8% slab to 20% slab

So that leaves only the possibility of a Diesel Sport using the 1.3 litre DDIS and VGT producing 90 Hp. it will be a good addition if they do that

Even if they raise walls they cannot hide as there is a hill beside the Manesar factory an there is even a road leading to top and you get a birds eye view of not only Maruti but most Manesar. I guess maruti needs to have the whole compound covered

Aah, 90BHP Diesel, rear disc breaks, keyless entry, push button start, reverse parking aid, hopefully power folding mirrors............

A very serious threat is looming large for VW Polo!

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

I seriously doubt if there would be a "Sport" variant. Why wouldn't this be the facelifted Z variant?

Sad to see the tail lights still intact. May be its just me but the tail lamps on the Swift are not to my taste and I was hoping they would be change it to something less flashy and more on the lines of the one on Dzire.
