Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

Nice to have access to the sneak peek !

In my personal opinion the DRL's and the alloys look good and will receive a positive response overall, though its quite obvious that its has a uncanny resemblance to the same on the Polo.

The front view looks much better on the swift, wonder what changes they have made to the rear?

So can we see the same changes soon propagating into the Dzire too?

Lol.
case matters.

Ertiga comes with standard ABS across the Diesel range.
Since Swift is always criticized for its brakes, so expecting it won't be a dream now.
Alteast its a time to expect V variants, if still they don't do this, this is really a height of enjoying Monopoly, shamefully not serving to the exact customer needs & demands.

Thank you to the Team-BHP fan who sent these pics in (he prefers to remain anonymous). Heartfelt gratitude for sharing them with other enthusiasts!

See the plate under the rear wheel Looks like the car was being used for some drift/skid shots.

Well apart from ^^ i don't have anything else to say about the car now. Will wait for official news, if they can give safety package across all variants that'll be a good thing, and BT radio too. Rest is all bling (and not enough of it ).

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

Please enlighten me on this. This new avtaar is just a 'facelift' right? It is not the all new Swift which was going to be launched sometime in 2015, is it?

Yup. It is just a face lift.

All-New Swift could be out by 2016 / 2017.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

-The start/stop button looks out of place and aftermarket.
-The alloy designs are not good. They came up with classy alloy designs on Ciaz and here they are back with their designs.
-Can we predict that there could be some cost cutting on the already thin sheet metal, glass and bad plastics?

Do I miss anything on my 14 month old? No. The start/stop - may be.

Why do the alloys not look like 16 inchers and look 15 inchers to me ? Is there anyone who thinks the same ?

Yep, they definitely do not look like 16 inchers from that sidewall.

Please throw me into the mix as well . Little did I know that 16 inchers are being expected! I had a good look as the wheels, showed the "facelift" to a couple of colleagues but, not for a second, did those seem like 16ers.

Is this bit confirmed? Maybe, they'll offer those as an OEM accessory (?)

Cheers,
-Shivang Gandotra

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

The kind of tyre-marks it has left on the floor clearly signals some serious drifting.

This is one of those blink-and-you-miss-it kind of facelifts - there seem to be only minor changes inside and out. Nevertheless, the addition of Bluetooth functionality to the music system, along with true keyless entry and engine start stop button is definitely welcome! I don't know if the very useful electrically retractable mirrors and reverse camera with electro-chromic mirror have been included or not.

It's a real pity that the DRLs have been replaced with chrome/plastic cladding for India. What's up with these manufacturers? Why can't they offer DRLs at least on the higher variants? They don't cost much, but look cool. This is in addition to performing their role in safety. These were present on the previous generation i20, but are missing on the new Elite i20. The Polo facelift was widely expected to get the DRLs as on the Euro version, but VW also disappointed us. Now, it's Maruti Suzuki's turn to omit the DRLs found on the European Swift.

Looks like the ad making of the facelifted Swift. To me, the biggest change is the re-introduction of the "bright red" color and the car looks stunning!

I was looking into the Gaadi Waadi scoop link and noticed these:

1. Option of chrome door handles on V variant (Black swift with NO alloy wheels)! Could be a V(O) as someone mentioned

2. Red door handle on Black & White colors (with alloy wheels) - could be a Z(O) - Similar to Punto Sports? Only if it had the 90 bhp option too; like the Punto Sports. And yes, RED ORVMs too!

2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed-swift.jpg

3. Phone controls (?) under the steering like the Ciaz.

4. No cruise control either.

5. Anyone else who thinks the alloy wheel resembles that of Linea MJD?

Edit:: I personally think that the DRLs will re-appear in the i20 face-lift! These are certain marketing gimmicks companies save for later, to bring fresh appeal for the product and also to raise the prices by another 10K

Though I would love to believe your projections swiftnfurious, I have couple of thoughts:

2. Those looks more like some sort of covers on the door handles to prevent any scratches/watermarks/etc that could be left by folks in the yard.
Even if these were actually 'Red Door Handles', seriously Maruti ?? Is that supposed to be some sort of a Sport Edition ??

5. I feel it resembles the Polo Facelift Alloys more and a tiny bit like the Linea one.
Either ways, Maruti just blew up one 'Wow' factor that was on the new Swift.

If my memory serves me right, International Elite I20's already have DRLs incorporated into the headlights.

P.S - Gimmicks or not, I respect Hyundai for being brave at providing numerous options to its customers.
