I have no expert clue of the new storme. Just that my central locking went Kaput within 4 months now, and when the technical lead was getting my poor car fixed, we got into a discussion since he has already been trained on the new storme. And while he has seen the stuff, out of curiosity I asked him if housing is different and is the new clutch a straight fit in the old ones too, considering the engine is same with a new remap. Well the engine i am told is same but some peripherals are different.

To cut short, I am technically no authority to suggest any performance upgrades in exiting storme :-)

Clutch will be different and i dont think it will fit in earlier stromes.

The clutch and engine is same as in Refreshed ARIA with same specifications.

The new ARIA comes with sponge filter before air filter assembly.

Clutch is very light. My ARIA has run 20,500 km in one year. Till now no mechanical/electrical breakdowns

Looks like this Storme in pictures has been kept for the media so launch might not be too far, but the question is how far!

Its Tata sirji. Mystical are the ways of the Lord and Tata Motors. Believe in the principal of Karma. If it has to happen, it will happen and it will happen when it has to happen. Your anxieties will not hasten it and your fears will not delay it.

I have been waiting for this launch for the last 8-9 months. Hence, now whatever happens, I will buy an SUV ONLY after I have test driven this facelift Storme.

On the inside its a totally different story. Graduating from the 2.2, the damn thing looks a lot more premium that what I had. Even the silver lining that folks were complaining about is looking very natural in the overall scheme.

Few minor observations -
- In one of the pictures you can see the seat belt not fully retracted and ready to get stuck in the door when you shut the door. Looks like some things never go away!
- There are dirt and grime marks on the passenger side and the rear seats which tells me that maybe this vehicle just came back from service at TASS

Hi, I recently came across this website claiming there's a 1.2Lakh discount on Storme upto 11th May.

Link

Good offer AFAIK, I guess Tata Motors is trying to ease liquidity & working capital by clearing out old stock.

In my opinion, it wont be a flat cash discount. TMIL has been constantly giving a discount in that range of 1-1.2 lac every year end for the last 2 years but that included the corporate discount, exchange bonus, discount on insurance and some cash discount.

re: Scoop: Updated Tata Safari Storme in the offing? EDIT: Now launched

can any of the photoshop experts try to apply a matt black color to the running boards and a thin strip around the wheel arches similar to what we see on the Duster adventure variant ?

IMHO that will reduce the bulk of the Storme and make it much more dynamic.

thanks

A new Storme is on the way, I got a promotion mail from Concorde Motors, at first I thought it was a pomotion for householder insurance after the recent Nepal earthquake, being a promotional mail all I could see was a haze instead of a silhouette. Like the earlier posts mentioned the discounts on the Storme are because of this.

The LX variant will come with grey painted body cladding, if someone can get a snap of that we can get to know if it looks good.

This thread reminds me of hindi soap operas, saas bahu type ones. Come back after a week and the development stays the same.

I dont want the whole cladding to be black/grey... only the running boards and a thin strip around the wheel arches..like on the hexa..

I've tried to indicate the areas on the Hexa to show what I'm refering to..

Personally I would not mind having the matte grey side cladding the Dicor EX and LX guys have. Its such a load off your head in city traffic.

Or one better. Put on those nice ARB bumpers front, rear, and sides, and then play "bumper car" with obnoxious bikers when no concept of personal space .....
