Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift revealed in spy shots EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh

Can anybody confirm if the accessories of the new age XUV can be fitted onto the older model? Some of the accessories like the handy rack carrier, metallic/illuminated scuff plates look really tempting and some of them IMO are practical too.

If you are looking for scuff plates, pick them up from ebay, I got them for my scorpio a year ago and are working perfectly fine and the cost is 1/4 of what is being quoted here by Mahindra.

Here's the link from ebay: http://www.ebay.in/sch/i.html?_odkw=...&_sacat=169874

PS: I dont have any business interest in any of those sellers.

There is a similar set of original accessories for the old XUV as well which included carriers, scuff plates etc.

Here is the latest pricing from one of the dealers in Bangalore -

Mahindra XUV500 facelift revealed in spy shots EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh-screen-shot-20150602-4.24.32-pm.png

Damn, they don't have a RED colour in W10 AWD version! And you know what, the waiting period for the RED W10 FWD is already beyond 4 weeks. More than 15 waiting for this month's quota with this dealer - may be sales gimmick but I wouldn't be surprised if that is true.

Yes! Most of the accessories are generic and not specific to the new facelift shape. They should fit the existing XUVs just fine.

The fog-lamps, the chrome around fog-lamps and the upper/lower grill chrome etc would not obviously fit the 1st gen XUVs.

The heads up display accessory seems to be pretty generic. It mentions only displaying the speed of the vehicle.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift revealed in spy shots EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 11.21 lakh

I test drove the new age XUV 500 recently at Sireesh Motors. I found that the vehicle has improved by leaps and bounds in terms of ride and handling. The new interior colours camouflage the quality of the plastics to a large extent. I am quite surprised and disappointed that they have not introduced the AT with this facelift. And as reports suggest (NDTV Car & Bike Show and others) that the AT will be introduced during pre-Diwali season. I am sure quite a few potential buyers (like me) will not book the new XUV 500 and wait it out for the AT to come in. In the interim period, I am sure there will be other launches by competition that will lure away potential customers. If Mahindra is listening (and they have been listening to customer demands), they should launch the AT without much ado.

I checked out a w10 in tuscan red which was looking Smashing. Attaching the pictures. Wonder if its the same shade that used to come on earlier version? This was looking much more alive, bright and better. Or is it because it was new?

The lighting and the angle might be deceiving the colour but yes your images show a slight orange tinge compared to the blood red/maroon tinge of the previous version.

I don't think W10 comes in red. But I am not 100% sure.

The New age xuv 500 comes in the 2 new colours i.e pearl white and sunset orange plus all other colours from the old xuv.

For a second I thought I must have had a dream but realized that the post above from abirnale is where I concurred that they havn't given that color in the top end variant.

Edit: My bad, just realized the top end W10 AWD and W8 AWD don't get all the colors, the W8 and W10 FWD models do get them.

The dealer infact had told me even the W10 AWD is available in all colours but since AWD is make to order only it had longer delivery period.
And they had clearly mentioned all the colours from the old XUV will be available in the new XUV regardless of the variant.
