Nopes.

You guys are forgetting the quintessential Mahindra, which is still very much on sale - Thar.

Sorry, but a FWD fares better in the hills. You may read a bit more on this discussion from here (Tata Hexa vs XUV500 vs Innova Crysta vs others) onwards.

I kind of agree and +1 to this factor. Also one may read the pros and cons of FWD and RWD here https://www.motorists.org/blog/pros-...l-wheel-drive/

FWD may be easy to build but prone to damages to its CV, especially Indian roads being riddled with potholes and speed breakers.

Personally for an MPV or SUV, I would prefer a RWD since it’s use would be more for holiday and off city driving.

Marazzo is defintely a great leap in refinement and technology for Mahindra. But the biggest put off for me is the Name

They should have had a better name for it. Should have simply called it is Mahindra MUV500 ( Similar to XUV and TUV ).

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

It is a superstition with Mahindra management. Scorpio and Bolero are the most successful models of Mahindra ever. Hence, the management thought that it is lucky for us to have 'O' at the end of the product name.

Even their commercial vehicles follow the same strategy, Maxximo, Jeeto, Supro, and Truxo.

It is similar to how these filmstars add an I or an E or an O in their names, as suggested by some astrologer. May be the same astrologer works for Mahindra.

Off-topic:
Agree. However they should have learnt long back when models like Verito or KUV100 flopped.

Coming to the vehicle, it appears to be very low slung, especially from the front. Everything else looks pretty good but we will get to know the actual performance once it hits the market.

Saw the car while waiting to pickup my scorpio at service centre . It is loaded with features , plenty of air vents , chiller A/c .

Overall liked the car except the deep dashboard which will make it tricky to park in tight locations . IMO mahindra has a winner .

what about Quanto, Xylo

Jokes apart, I have been going through the reviews on auto portals and having mixed opinion of this car now. Though the car looked very nice in those photo shoots, in real the car might look plain like any other MPV (Boring)

Some of the cons i could gather is - Body roll, Vague steering, Boring engine performance, Long throw gear shifts, Bad storage management. Could work with fleet operators, but need to see how the private owners respond to this.

I was considering this as an upgrade over my ageing(yet solid) Ertiga. But now i am skeptical.

And it continues, another name likely (from the animal kingdom?) to end in 'O'

Mahindra has confirmed that its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV, codenamed the S201, will be powered by the new D15 diesel engine which recently made its debut with the Marazzo MPV. The carmaker also added that the SUV will have a tricky name like the Marazzo!

Anything to suggest that an automatic will come in future? I could not find anything to that effect earlier. This has the potential to be an outstanding beater car.

During the launch event it was specifically pointed out that the Automatic version and Petrol version will launch close to when the BS6 norms kick in, that is in 2020.

A good review BUT

Just imagine if they had compared the Top Marazzo model with the Base Innova model which would still be at least 2.5L more expensive OTR. The Innova would I believe been seen for the overpriced vehicle it is even considering the supposedly R word.

has anybody twisted the Marazzo name to something like - mar-zao, yet ?

Jokes apart, I wish them the success they deserve.
