Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

The front grill reminds me of Mahindra Imperio. Looks interesting though and Mahindra seems to have come a long way when it comes to interior, both design and quality of material wise.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

So a car that is inspired by shark, and misses out on shark fin antenna as a standard.

By the way finally my faith on the pininfarina designs is restored again. Lovely design and interiors are even better. Interiors of XUV from launch to date are nice,. different but still quirky. The difference is, the interiors of marazzo are far more clean, elegant, mature and obviously look like a huge step up. Good job Mahindra. (and secretly wishing these quality interiors make their way to the poor neglected unblessed Scorpio someday)

Basque language. I don't speak any Basque at all, but Google Translate does.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

After seeing all the pictures and videos, I must say that Mahindra have done an excellent job with the Marazzo interiors and exteriors.

Will I buy? No..
As the Van looks like the old Innova with a little Jazz everywhere. The competition looks more upmarket and New.

If I buy, I will buy it as a cheaper alternative to Crysta or Hexa, or I am a Taxi Operator.

Waiting for our review. But would say Mahindra has done a good job and Tata needs to be as quick as Mahindra In brings cars to market.
Tata seems to take too long testing their cars.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I like alloys and the side profile. The front somehow looks like an evolution of the Xylo, most yprobably due to the tooth grill. Interiors probably are the best in a Mahindra so far. Just when I thought that Mahindra may have taken feedback and sobered down on the styling, we have the rear lights to remind us that make no mistake this is still a Mahindra

Not counting half-baked products like Bolt, Zest - Tata Motors, in the recent past, has launched Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Hexa, which are head and shoulders above the half-baked KUV-100 or the TUV 300 (in terms of product offerings in their respective segments).

Tata Motors are now working on a brand-new modular platform and we would rather want a quality product coming out from this platform than being the initial guinea pigs. All the testing is completely worth it.

Think both manufacturers are on the right track, and lets appreciate them for this.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I'm convinced that the car is far better than its predecessor. The Marazzo would compel consumers to consider this segment seriously.

To be fair they could've offered a 5 year warranty upfront (to gain consumer confidence with a new engine) or atleast better initial introductory price. They didn't, probably due to production limitations & the obvious fact that they'd need to learn how the product performs in the customers hands!

IMO this highlights the Lodgy as a VFM offering. Renault has a well tested product and a bullet proof reliable engine!

Waiting for the Team BHP review of how it's put together, how it's specs work for it and ofcourse, how it drives!

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I think the launch of Marazzo will be a blessing in disguise for the Lodgy. Until now, nobody really cared about Lodgy. But now, because of the comparisons with Lodgy and the price difference I am expecting some additional sales for Renault.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

What's so special about the Marazzo? Much better looking interiors than the Xylo for sure whereas exteriors are subjective but what is the real USP? I doubt Innova/ Hexa prospectives will consider this. Innova is a segment above in price and specs even if we disregard the following it has. Hexa has SUV looks and a lot else going for it. Comparison with Lodgy can't be seen as a compliment.

I feel the Marazzo will have its time in the sun till the novelty wears off or till MS comes out with the new Ertiga.

The cabbies meanwhile have something new to play with .

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I think Marazzo is a nice try from Mahindra to be in the MPV market as Xylo is close to the end of its life cycle and should be discontinued or be given a huge makeover. From the looks of it the interior is spacious. From the review of Autocar it seems there is a bit of bodyroll. Tbhp official review will confirm it more preciously. But I think Innova Crysta is still the undisputed winner in this segment and it will take a lot more than this to dethrone it. I think cars that will feel the pinch are Ertiga, Lodgy and its very own XUV and Scorpio because eventhough Scorpio belongs to a different category, urban buyers looking for a new 7 seater might fancy it over the harsh ride of Scorpio.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

I feel it's good as overall package. Exteriors are subjective, I don't find anything overdone except the grill. As others said, side profile and alloys are pretty good. Interiors looks plush and comfortable. Good enough to catch fancy of buyers.

I think Lodgy is a dead product, no point is comparing this with it, even if they belong to same category. Neither it will make any difference in Lodgy sales, not even slightest one. This might draw customers from all around segments, some of Ertiga and TUV +, some of scorpio, some of lower variants of XUV and Hexa. Surely cabbies will be attracted due to similarity in looks with older Innova.

I am little confused here, this has 120 BHP power and 300 Nm torque, kerb weight is 1650 kg. Scorpio still sales with same power - torque figures and weighs 1820 kg. I haven't heard people calling it under-powered. Experts please explain..

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Though looks is a very subjective topic, I feel that the design has not been over done. And that is certainly a complement for the Mahindra designers.

Interiors look nice too. Usually they mess up with basic ergonomics like gear lever position and height, but from the test drive video reports no major ergonomic mishaps have occurred thus leading to a well rounded design, much unlike Mahindra.

On paper 120 BHP and 300 NM Torque sounds good. Six Speed Manual would be nice on those long highway drives.

Best part is that the 4 Wheel Disk Brakes, Airbag ABS are standard and so is the AC vent for the rear row. Base variant at 9.99 Lakhs gets all of this and also Power Windows. It makes a strong case for itself.

Re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Another review of Marazzo published by Overdrive. Sounds very neutral and brings out the pros and cons very well.

And here's another one by Zigwheels. The presenter stalls the car twice. Wonder how a car expert can manage to stall a car like that.
