| ![]() They are finding it difficult with all the new launches. There was a time when Tiago itself used to bring close to 8k sales. Now Santro , Venue , XUV300 all have eaten into the sales of Tiago and Nexon. Wonder what is the Harrier sales number this month. If that has gone down as well then it is big trouble for TML. Their other flagship is anyway in the bottom of the charts. Add to that , Tata has not been vocal about their BS6 transition strategy and that is causing them lost sales too. Mahindra has already announced their strategy and all their premium brands will successfully make the transition. Last edited by padmrajravi : 4th June 2019 at 08:27. Reason: Extra spaces |

Of all reasons, this strategy not being clear would be the last for anyone who buys the car. Tata will not be sitting simply knowing that the deadline is drawing closer, I am sure they would already be testing their BS-VI capable cars.

I think so . I know two of my colleagues who removed Hexa from their consideration set because they were not sure if it will make the BS6 transition. Even if 5 percent of sales is lost , it still is a loss .

Sales figures stand at 7316 and likely to be in 6th position in the overall August sales. Source:Sales data Last edited by volkman10 : 1st September 2019 at 17:40. |

Infractions: 0/1 (7) | ![]() Well deserved for Tata motors. Inspite of having a great and newish product line up, you failed to captialize on it. Your sales and marketing folks don't belong to the modern era, you choose to discourage people asking for a Hexa and instead try to push your half baked Harrier on to them. Your design team doesn't seem to understand modern needs like a panoramic roof, an automatic gearbox, mood lighting and a great touch screen. They believe that painting neon orange and green over black and calling it crazy edition will produce crazy sales. Your production team can't reduce nvh of a borrowed engine (harrier). Your management doesn't understand product lifecycles, no facelift on the Hexa, Nexon or a Tiago yet. Keep going like this and in a couple of years you will be behind Skoda in sales. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() You are right about automatic gearbox however they are up to date with the product lifecycles. Tiago and Tigor recently updated with new touchscreen, headlights and some more features and the facelift is already being tested. Nexon was launched just 2 years back and it is also going to receive facelift end of this year. |

Forget all of this, how difficult is it to fire an idiot salesman who shows no interest in a walk in customer? Or don't keep a vehicle available for test drive? Tata started off their impact 2.0 fighting an uphill battle. Instead of being aggressive and pushy, they seem content and wallowy in their approach. The irony today is, their products are competent, niggle free (almost), offer better bang for the buck then the competition, yet their sales keep declining. I guess impact 2.0 was only related to the offerings, not to their substandard employees.

| ![]() Are the numbers dealer dispatches or retail sales? I remember to have read that Tata, Bajaj and couple of other Auto manufacturers had decided not to dump inventory on to their dealers and cut production/dispatches till the inventory levels in the supply chain reach a manageable level. Is the drastic decline due to that decision? I don't think Tiago and Nexon which have been doing fairly well will suddenly fall out of favour. |

| ![]() They are pushed to seventh and not sixth. With the Triber launch, even Renault has over taken them. With the new Kwid launch, I am sure the difference will go up again. They are also with in striking distance of Kia. |
