| ![]() The report from Autocar is confusing. Isn't the next gen Dzire an all new car based on the Baleno's platform? Autocar seems to opine that it will be based on a heavily reworked current gen Dzire's platform. Which of this is actually true? Is it based on the Baleno's platform or the current gen Dzire's platform? |

The new Swift is based on a heavily reworked Swift platform and hence so will the Dzire be on a heavily reworked platform. | |

Maruti trying to reduce the number of platforms from 8 to 4 inorder to reduce the production cost. So, depending again on the current Swift platform for its new version is not a possibility, when they have the new modular platform in place for Baleno and Ignis. | ![]() What's the point is releasing teaser sketches when the spy shots have already shown the full car in detail? ![]() A little bit of smarter marketing would go a long way. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Isn't this a worldwide phenomena? The spy shots are from paparazzis or birdies who leak out information. While official teasers from the manufactures will be released before a launch / start of booking, even though the cars have been without camouflage through spy shots. | ![]() Come on folks, credit where it's due! Compared to the first 2 gen dzires ( I was one of the first owners of the 1st gen Dzire way back in 2008 ) I think this design is a lot more cohesive and does not look like a swift stuck with a boot. For sure the sub 4m CS segment is waking up to more acceptable designs like the new aspire, Tigor, xcent and now the new Dzire. Somehow I'm getting a feeling that Suzuki didn't design the swift in isolation and probably considered the fact that there is a huge market in India for a compact sedan and hence the Dzire has come out looking a lot more cohesive. If the really bad looking 1st and 2nd gen dzires can set the sales charts on fire, im quite sure this new one is going to take Maruti further in India. Wouldn't be surprised if the Dzire outsold the swift all the way, unless GST brings about some drastic change in the way cars are taxed. |
