Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Car looks decent with the alloys and all. Looks a bit premium too in the pic but we would have a clear pic once the car is launched. The question is will Maruti sell only to private buyers or allow the much hated rash driving cab tribe to own this as well ? |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Is it really based on the Swift? The A pillar and all doesn't look like the Swift. Or have they worked on it quite a bit unlike before? |

| ![]() Whoa! Nice catch! ![]() It does look like a sub-4m car. Like all its existing competitors, that slim rear bumper is an almost sure indicator of its length! But one has got to say the 3rd gen. DZire looks much better than both its predecessors. ![]() This looks like the middle VDi variant (the badge is not very clear), given the black (not silver) steel wheels, which should get wheel covers. Front fog lamps seem to be missing, though. It could also be a pre-production car meant to be used as a test mule for further fine-tuning. Last edited by RSR : 2nd April 2017 at 18:09. |

| ![]() This new car is based on Swift but doesn't share bits with the Hatchback to the extent the previous generations did. The IP is common but the other interior bits hardly are. |

Infractions: 0/2 (8) | ![]() The Swift is quite a sporty car and with good looks. But if you add a boot to it then it becomes ugly. I think Suzuki could have just used the same platform and come up with a good sub 4 metre sedan but since the Dzire sells like hot cake they are not bothered about coming up with a smart sedan. Will the 2nd generation Dzire now become the Dzire tour? |

| ![]() Looks quite close to the sketch released by AIB. Although whats interesting to note is that the rear, cannot be mistaken for anything other than a dZire. Question -> Does the new Swift unvield at various auto shows sport similar layout of the Dashboard as seen in the new DZire photos? |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() No it doesn't!! Looking at the interiors and A pillar design etc, I think it's not based on the new platform. Maruti has worked on the old Dzire itself. |

![]() 2017 Dzire ![]() If you look carefully, the dash is almost based on the new 2017 swift. Side vents, steering, speedometer unit and the central console are the same. They have definitely made some changes, rather than directly copying the hatch(which they did for the last two iterations), hence the changes to parts like centre vents etc. ![]() Dzire is no longer a spun-off extension brand, rather, in some places, it has a much stronger pull than the Swift itself. So, it justifies the extra cost spent on differentiating it from the hatch. Regards, Shashi PS: I am happy they finally gave us the thumb contours and the flat bottomed steering wheel. Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() This definitely looks like a > 4m car. The chrome finish on the front grille is overdone, not to my taste. Overall, seems to be better than the current gen Dzire, but its still the international Swift that pulls my heart strings. There's no replacement for a tastefully done up black finish interior. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Overall car looks more proportionate now. Earlier I hated the rear profile and this time the front looks really odd( for a sedan ) It also brings picture of ambassador in my mind Looks like maruti plans to launch this first followed by the hatch to negate the feeling of DZire being a mere swift with a boot |
