re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

Prices of WR-V in comparison to Brezza (ex-delhi): Diesel only

Brezza ZDI: 8.71 lakhs
WR-V SMT: 8.79 lakhs

Brezza ZDI+: 9.7 lakhs
WR-V VXMT: 9.99 lakhs

re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

The Ex-showroom price of 9,99,999/- Delhi would translate to 10,40,000/- here in Bangalore pushing the OTR to 13.2L.
Thats the price of the S-Cross 1.6 Delta.

Bottom line is, its way more expensive that the Ford Ecosport, the Brezza, the S-cross.

Let us observe a moment of silence for Honda's last nail in their coffin.

Delhi Customers are spared with TCS as the highest priced Diesel Vx is priced less than 10 lakhs. But Bangalore Customers will not be lucky as the prices will be 2-3% more.

Most likely Honda will price the VXMT diesel at Rs 9.99 lakhs only in all states.

Ex: Honda City VMT petrol has the same 9.99 lakhs ex-showroom price in Delhi and Bangalore to give the customer advantage of respective state taxes.

I think this is going to be a decent seller for Honda. It will probably settle around 2500 units/month.

S-Cross 1.6 Delta is not in production anymore, and top of the line Ecosport diesel is 70k more expensive than W-RV.

Well, if that happens, It would translate to an OTR of about 12.4L in Bangalore which I think is acceptable.

Fingers crossed.

re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

I feel both the S variants and the VX diesel are decently priced when compared to Ecosport. I don't understand the pricing of VX petrol variant.

Difference between Diesel VX and S is 1.2 lakhs. For that price, the main features one gets is Sunroof, Cruise Control, Push Button start/stop, Fog lamps, Alloy wheels, Climate Control and rear camera which might be worth it.

The Petrol VX on the other hand is 1.24 lakhs more expensive than the Petrol S. Therefore the difference in price is more, but it loses more features like Cruise Control and Push Button Start! Should have been cheaper considering loss of features by around 20k. Else what was the benefit of cutting down on features?

The only reason I see for cutting down of features would be for a future ZX petrol variant with CVT in the future and Honda wanting to keep some differentiation left for that.

One word for Pricing - STUPID

Its all over for Honda WR-V

Dear WR-V the pit is ready for you to rest, I think your company will take you there in few months. Your friends will be laughing looking at the way your company has priced you. Better Luck Next Time.
But it has Sunroof!!

And it is a honda. And this is India. It will sell

I'm sorry. I was just looking at the S-cross leaflet which I got from Nexa the other day.

Also, the Ecosport top end in Bangalore is about 12.9L

The brand Honda has stopped working out as the sole reason for a sale. Probably only car left that still enjoys that brand image to some extent is the Honda City. The Mobilio, BRV, Brio have all got lukewarm responses despite the brand name.

My guess would be around 800 - 1000 units per month, once the initial craze settles down. No hard arguments, as it's just a prediction and we can always revisit this later.

Anyone calculate the price differential w.r.t Jazz?

Jazz -

S MT petrol = 6,52,300
VX MT petrol = 7,81,250
S MT diesel = 7,88,850
VX MT diesel = 9,18,100

WRV

1.2 S - 7,75,000
1.2 VX - 8,99,000
1.5 S - 8,79,000
1.5 VX - 9,99,900

Looks like the petrol variants are being charged more, as compared to the diesel variants. Any difference in features between the two?

Brand Honda + sunroof + pseudo SUV looks = irresistible combo for many. Honda maynot have the same kind of brand pull among enthusiasts anymore, but Honda is still considered premium by many layfolks, even though i dont know why.

Yes, you are correct. But since Titanium+ & VX are the Fully Loaded Trims in Ecosport & WR-V, I have compared them side by side.

This is based on positioning & not on price.

If one takes into account the Features on Titanium+ Diesel, it is worth the 20k premium. The Petrol at 9.89 lakhs is for EcoBoost Engine, so there also the Ecosport looks VFM compared to WR-V.

Well, my comment was a bit sarcastic. But well might prove to be true. Let's wait and watch.

BTW, i think this WRV should be compared with I20 active, fiat avventura/urban cross, more than ecosport and brezza in terms of feature set. Just my opinion.

Re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

No surprises. They just announced what was widely speculated.
The diesel VX seems the better option if they have a 9.99 lacs price pan India. For 1 lac more, you get a ton of features on top of the S variant.
The petrol versions are overpriced.
