In auto-variants the Amaze CVT commands around 40k premium over equivalent Dzire AMT. In manual all variants are neck on neck with Dzire, but Top VX variant in both petrol and diesel undercut Dzire ZXI+/ZDI+ by 35-40k

Did HONDA learn their lesson and understand that they aren't that 'premium' after-all to command exorbitant prices above competition?

These are deliberately priced below Dzire for VFM. This will give Honda the chance to sell the CVT more and thereby gain enough Guinea pigs to test the CVT reliability. I am pretty sure they will increase the price very shortly. Honda and its pseudo premium image will never allow them to undercut "inferior" Suzuki.

Hope the prices stay that way sometime until Amaze picks up some ~5000 homes per month. Considering the handful of CVT reviews for Amaze over the internet, I feel the prices are quite decent, unlike the Honda's pseudo premium.

After reading GTO's impressions, Amaze now seems like a pretty all-rounder, for all it offers. Though the DZire has its own charm, I believe this Honda will have decent takers, especially with the Diesel CVT, unlike the VW Ameo DSG which seems to be struggling in the sales chart.

Yes, these prices are introductory; reserved for the first 20,000 buyers.

Here is the release from Honda, not sure if there is a further discount on the revealed prices for the first 20k bookings prior to today.

Superb pricing from Honda, considering their badge value! Hope Diesel CVT succeeds and other follow them. Can't wait to drive one.

No news about he hike after initial 20,000 bookings, service being 10% cheaper must be in reference with Maruti and not Ford Aspire, if it's 10% cheaper than Aspire, I will exchange my swift for this car

The top end variant seems decently priced, unlike its competitors which are charging around 80-90k premium for the top most variant. Others are decently priced too. I would prefer the Aspire diesel at similar price over Amaze diesel any day though. With upcoming launch, Aspire might go above Amaze as value proposition.

PS: With every launch, what amazes me is Baleno pricing. I can't think of any recently launched car (other than Nexon probably) which has nailed pricing absolutely
