Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Duster 85, Recent trip:
Guruvayur-Kodaikanal-Mannavannur-Kodaikanal-Veerapandi (Coimbatore)- Guruvayur

Total Distance- 720 km ( Approximately 200 km ghat/hill road, 60 km City, 140 km 4 lane national highway, 320 km 2 lane state highways)

Speeds: ~ 90 kmph in national highways, ~ 70 kmph in state highways

Occupants: 2 people and luggage onboard.

F.E= 20.4 kmpl

Super happy with the FE provided by this car in 65,000 km of driving , only on rare occasions I see figures less than 20 kmpl. I'm not an aggressive driver, not sedate too.

Lol what I meant is steady 120 kmph with no aggressive lane cutting, unnecessary bursts of speed et al considering the fact that the Bangalore-Chennai highway (via Hosur) is excellent. Just Cruising in the middle lane at that speed. 120 is the max I touch in my car.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have been driving the new Baleno Diesel since December, last year. The best I achieved was between Una and Chandigarh. Calculations showed at least 23 KMPL, while MID reading was at 25 KMPL+ at one point of time.

Worst ever was during a lot of spirited driving between Gurgaon and Jaipur. Averaged less than 20 KMPL here. The car is not much good to drive, but low fuel bills are keeping me happy!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My new Ford Aspire TDCI(Diesel) is giving me mileage(thankful to thankful method) of 22.76 per litre. The odo is 1785 km only and run in period is not over yet. Driving is 98% highway, 2% city with 100% climate control and my driving style is sedate type(speed around 90 km/h). I checked the mileage twice tankful to tankful and it showed almost similar result. MID shows 22.1 to 22.7 km/l.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Completed a Delhi - Patiala - Delhi trip yesterday with around 25% of in town driving and 75% highway drive, got an excellent fuel economy of 18.5 kmpl. Drove around in an unhurried manner but was not sedate by any means. Average driving speeds were around 70-75 kmph mark, which by Indian Highway standards I presume are pretty cool .

Also I am consistently getting between 14.5 & 15 kmpl during my daily office commutes within Delhi in nearly peak hour driving, again I am by no means a sedate driver, but do not go hammer & tongs either with the A.

Surprisingly my ancient 2002 Mpfi Gypsy King returns an average of about 10kmpl. This is with pretty spirited driving too.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 45,000 km run Estilo K Series delivers a consistent mileage of 16 kmpl in small city driving conditions.

While the traffic is not much of a problem, my daily commute is just 15 km, divided into four short trips of 3.5 km each with a few stops thrown in for shopping or daily errands .

Highway journeys yield around 19 kmpl with average speeds in the range of 75-80 kmph.

Needless to say, I am reasonably happy. More so because most of my running happens with AC remaining on.

Interestingly, in the initial two years of my ownership, when I had cooling paper on the glasses, I used to get upto 22 kmpl on highways - higher than the ARAI certified mileage.

Mileage has always been calculated on full tank to full tank basis.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Polo 1.2 MPI petrol used to give me a constant 12Kmpl in Bangalore city and 15Kmpl on highway (AC on more than 75% time).

Strangely, our i10 1.2 gives the same figure of 12Kmpl in Bhubaneswar!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

During my last highway run with my Celerio ZXi AMT (O) from Bangalore to Coimbatore, I got an average of 20.3 kmpl with AC running on level-2 most of the time. I am getting a city mileage of 19 kmpl regularly.

2nd service just got over and ODO stands at 6.5K.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Okay, MIDs are far from accurate but the Baleno Diesel has been pretty frugal of late. This, with a really very light foot and aircon always set on 26 Celsius.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I could manage a figure of nearly 18km/l over a 630km round trip that involved 500km of 4 lane NH and remaining on 2 lane SH on my Aria Pure 4X2. Coming to the accuracy of MID, full tank method is generally 2-5% higher. This has been verified over multiple full tanks for the last 4 years and 57K kms.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2011 Wagon R VXi, 43.5k kms on odo.
Last 4 tankfuls have returned 16.6, 16.7, 17.8 and 15.6 kmpl.
Usage: 70% city, 30% ORR (open roads), 90% AC.

All measurements are tankful to tankful (auto-cutoff) from the same fuel bunk.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2016 Suzuki S-Cross 1.6 with 12K on the odo.

On a recent trip from Bangalore to Thekkady, got the following fuel efficiency figures:
Total distance: 1038km
Total fuel used: 66 litres
Mileage: 15.73kmpl (6.36 litres/100km)

This was measured on tankful to tankful basis.
Driving style was highly spirited.
