That is a huge variance between the actual and the MID. Are you sure? It may be under fueling at the pump

Yes, that's true. I have been monitoring this since almost two years now. The actual FE is approximately 4 km/l less than the one calculated by the onboard computer.

And it's the same with different pumps as well. Looks like all 2011+ Swift petrols have been calibrated this way. Not many people care to measure the FE of their cars using the tankful method; so the manufacturer thought it's best to give inflated figures (which make us happy and less-worried) to us than real ones.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

A Maruti MID cannot be trusted. In Ford, VW or even Mahindra the full to full effeciency is usually + 0.5 km of what MID shows.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I'm getting a mileage of ~23 kmpl on Nov-15 Ford (Figo) Aspire TDCI. Usage is intercity (Fbd-Del-Fbd) for 70+ kms a day with early start in morning to dense traffic in evenings, & lots of local trips on weekends.

AC usage 30% overall.

FE in Bangalore city w/o AC & highway with AC are same? Either you are doing wonders in city or doing something wrong in highway. Or is it the case that most of your 50km in Bangalore is open stretches where you can maintain car in higher gear?

Any significant difference in the fuel economy after the remap? I heard from a few pune members that your punto has transformed into a beast. Congrats on the remap.

It's because the highway drives are generally above 100 Kmph and some spirited driving. If I maintain 80-90 on highways, I get around 25 kmpl with AC.
Bangalore, it's ITPl - Electronic City and back.. Open stretches here is just a wishful thinking

My current Fuel Economy in Bangalore city without AC. Did run ~100 KM after the last refill.

Good thing is FE has not taken a hit even after remap. The car has become peppy lower down the rpm which was much needed. I would have loved if FIAT had given this remap as stock.

Still, 23 in Bangalore city traffic is just wonderful.

Do you have the 1.3 or 1.6 version? I know you have mentioned the variant but unfortunately I'm not aware of the new variant nomenclature for the premium cars by Maruti and the variant details.

I've heard the same.

My ex boss also has the 90hp sports variant which he got remapped at Bangalore by Vuzeu. His FE numbers also haven't dropped but the lag has significantly reduced lower down.

What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

So, after I changed the rubber to Yoko S drives 205/55 R 15 in my Vento 1.6 TDI,
FE : 21.59 Kmpl
It's for normal driving style with single person, no luggage, ACC at 24 deg all the time, 34 PSI tyre pressure all around and 52090 Kms on Odo in my office route (40 Kms 4 lane and 90 Kms 2 lane state & district roads) daily for 6 days.
So, a dip of around 1.3 -1.7 Kmpl from my previous figures in stock tyres. I am pretty happy with the increased grip & the stance and will be okay as long as the FE is at least 20 Kmpl.
