Yeah TurboSam I agree! A lot of fuel was wasted in the 1 hour stop go traffic. Only ONCE I drove 200 km without a/c on the highway because it was an emergency trip and I was doing between 130-160 km/h and a top speed of 180 km/h, and I got a FE of 11-12 after returning from that trip, return was 200 km same, but with full a/c and regular speeds of 120-140 + 10% city trip..

got over 14 KMPL in my Petra 1.6 while returning from home town. Heavy rains and limited visibility restricted me to speeds less than 60-70 KMPH. Heater was on with windows down to clear fog on windscreen for 7 Hrs. AC was on with windows rolled up for close to 3 hrs. This is the max KMPL I have seen so far.

Thanks. A part of the credit probably goes to the BP pump I filled from on my way back.

BP guys in hyderabad are awesome. I am currently on second fill of IOC diesel and I found them marginally better than BP. BP gives me regularly 13.25kmpl-13.50kmpl in this chaotic traffic along with my high rev driving. First fill of IOC gave me 14.25kmpl all with about 40% AC city driving.

So i will stick to IOC as much as i can.

Car: Ikon 1.6

I got a new FE figure of 14.9 on my recent tank which is split to:
15 km or in city smooth traffic flow
350 km or in the highway, cruising between 120-140, occasional touches to 160
15 km or in stop go traffic for about 30 mins
70 km or in city with smooth traffic + rough traffic + long idles.

AND on top of all, car given for service after this.

100% a/c was used.
