City : 12.5-13kmpl with 40% AC (70% travel on ORR )
Highway : 16 kmpl

I drive a WagonR Lxi 2006 June .
In bangalore traffic it returns 14 (13.83(lowest) - 14.24(Highest) )with 30-40% AC on with Shell Normal petrol.

We have Duo LPG at home (Done 2500 Kmts) so far with 100 % AC it gives 11.5 to 12

2000 Santro LE after doing 86k kms:
City: 12 with 100% A/C On. (Have managed upto 13.5 with 60-70% off with sensible driving)
Highway: 14.5 with 100% A/C On. (Best ever was 18 with a consistent 60-75 kmph!)

2002 Palio 1.2 ELX (sold in Aug '07 after doing 46k kms):
City: 11.5 - 12 with 80% A/C On.
Highway: 14 - 14.5 with 100% A/C On.

2007 Civic 1.8 MT (Done 5k, 2nd free service done):
City: 11.5 with 100% A/C On.
Highway: 14.5 with 100% A/C On (incidentally this was after the 1st free service with speeds mostly above 130 kmph, of course, on stretches wherever possible)

you wont understand till you spend a day by my side in my car,maybe.
& my swift sounds sooo good and smooth when i do drive "normally" [in car with mom and granny] i am sure my fuel efficiency would sky rocket if i continued to drive that way but thats not my scene

but i am not boosting , sorry , boasting , not trying to invite bad energy man : dont have much money at all .>would cry without my free fuel > its one of the few things i am sorted with
so please dont misunderstand man

100% ac on highway 13.5 - 14

although these are figures for a car that has almost 98k clicks on the odo

I ma planning to buy a 2005 Skoda Octavia Petrol . Can any of you give me an idea of the fule efficiency I can get in City . In what I have read it looks like it will give 7 kmpl at best . Wi;ll appreciate any inputs

Here are my figures

ZEN: 12 -13 (City) & 16-17 (Highway) with A/C
Santro: 12-14 (City) & 15-16 (Highway) with A/C
Pulsar 180 DTS-i: 38-40 (City) & never been to highway

My Ikon 1.6 gives 9 - 11 km in city with part AC. Daily run is approximately 12 km with four signals and a wait time of about 5 - 7 minutes at each point.
Highway - not sure - somewhere around 15 - 17 kmpl - part AC.

I am not sure if these are OK - car has done 80 K.

This is nice FE if you wait at 4 signals and i suppose AC is on for those 5 - 7 minutes when u are stuck at signal.

Car: Ikon 1.6

In the latest trip of mine, I got a new FE figure of 13.0 which is split to:

15 km in city smooth traffic flow

350 km in the highway, cruising between 130-160, rpm's always in 3k-4.5k rpm band, meaning downshift if rpm goes below 2,750 rpm and upshift at 3.5k-4k rpm and occasional deceleration to 90-100 for traffic.

15 km in stop go traffic for about 30 mins

15 km in town drive (sandy roads, unpaved roads etc), mostly 1st or 2nd gear only.

100% a/c was used.

Loving this car a lot on the highways!

Here i go:-

Indica Xeta V2 GLG 1.4 2006
City: 10 to 11.5 depending on traffic.
Highway: 12 - 14.

WagonR Prima 2005
City: 12 to 13 depending on traffic.
Highway: 16 - 18.

100% AC on in city and on highways.

Actually somebody in the initial posts has put it very well, it's actually the fe of the driver and not of the car. My driver when drives my WagonR, the FE drops to 9 in city and when he takes over my indica, the fe drops to 8 in city

Car: Maruti Suzuki Alto LX (7 years OLD)

Fuel Used: Xtra Premium (was a mistake though the car doesn't like premium fuel but it was emergency)

Overall FE: Tank Full AutoCut 16.xx with 70% AC on

Driving Style: 70% light footed and 30% medium. No redlines

Points to be noted: Stuck in traffic for like 30 - 45 mins with AC on and the ECU is new so may take time to settle to my driving style

Gear Shift Order with AC on: 2 @ 20kmph, 3rd 35+, 5th 50kmph or more. 4th if really needed slotted above 40+

Gear Shifting Order without AC on (during nights and evenings): 2nd @less than 20 kmph, 3rd @ 25 kmph, 5th @40 -45 kmph. 4th if really needed @35 - 40 kmph.

All figures are with very less ac - not more than 15%- & mostly highways/ open roads and generally very consciously driven for best efficency.
1.Indica V2- 17 min( coomute).- 24 max( Mumbai - Goa)( avg speed around 70-80 kmph). Total used around 48000 kms.
2. Viva CRDi- city(25%) highway(75%) mix- worst - just once( tank full to tank full)- after my 3rd servicing- those guys must have kept the engine on idle for hours- else average is minium 16.5 kmpl ( sprints mode) - 18 (very well driven) and 22 on Mumabi - Goa trip, 20- Mumbai - Jaipur trip.( Total drove around 60000 kms)
3. Wagon R- 14.5 kmpl- almost consistently , 19 on mumbai -goa - light footed( calculated after return trip).( Total drove around 30000kms.
4. Pulsar 180 ( non DTSi)- 38 avg.( Navi Mumbai- Mumbai commute.) Total drove approx. 9000 kms. mostly full throttle!!
5. Bullet - 32 min. & 38max( long trips- 200kms plus)/ in and around Dalhousie/ Jammu/Pathankot belt. total used around 11000 kms.
