That's one of the best maintained SB308 I've seen in recent times. Brings back a lot of memories.

Do click photos of the inside and outside in detail and create a TBHP garage for this car. The car really deserves it.

Hood release button with Red triangle and two golden lines, "MARUTI" on steering wheel (in English letters) are some of the things you'll not see in later years. Does the engine cover say "SUZUKI"?

Primarily because its being used locally and the traffic police here is least bothered. And then i find black plates better looking too

This is near the Bharathi Nursing Home near Nagasandra circle, I believe. If you come up towards the circle, there is one more car, a SS80 which is always parked near the corner, i forgot the colour, a light blue or white.

Thats a wonderfully maintained car, and it is indeed the one which we all are referring to.

It has been a long time since I saw an 800 with this grill.

Were the rear logos at the same positions throughout? And the wheel hubs chrome plated?

On the topic, yes before the introduction of the DX signage in the SB308 for the deluxe version, the Deluxe monogram was in italics. Subsequently the deluxe version was discontinued and an AC TG version was introduced with only Air Conditioner and Tinted Glasses all around and without a Radio/Cassette player. This was later on again launched as the deluxe version with the DX signage. This also had upholstery with cloth inserts.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

^^ WOW I am astonished to see such an original example, would surely prefer this particular car over any other used A segment hatchback. To me this is certainly in the league of a collectable Suzuki.

Thanks a lot torque18 for sharing the detailed pics of your car.

TORQUE,
Your car is really a timecapsule SB308 Deluxe.the burgundy leather seat covers is the icing in the cake.By the way this had an ANALOGUE quartz clock unlike the LED digital clock in the ss80.both the radio and the cassette player in the console attached to the bottom of the dash was MARUTI CLARION.It seems you have replaced the clarion cassette player?

The last full DELUXE version came only upto 1990 end or so.From 1991 there was only A/C TG.It had neither clock, nor leather seats

Thanks a lot sir. Yes the cassette player console along with the cassette player is lying intact with me. I have changed the entire thing so as not to tamper with the original console. Changed it as the options were getting limited with cassettes

In 1994/1995/1996 M800 had a premium of Rs 40K and to cash it by itself Maruti introduced a TK version, TK standing for Tat Kal by institutionalizing the premium selling it at Rs 30K higher than the list price. What was funny was the sticker TK on the left fender and thoe stickers was similar to the alphabet stickers that came with VIP brand luggage.
Subsequently for a brief period there was an intermediate EX version which had all the DX version's OE fitments except AC. In fact a ready to add an Air Conditioner variant.
