We have long waiting list for many cars in India. Like in the case of Fortuner, Polo and many more cars, actual launches meant nothing and people had to wait for months to get their booked cars.

The jan edition of Autocar has a facelift image of SX4. See the link below. Could the new diesel SX4 come with face lift. The new grille however looks bad. The honey comb one is the best

I agree, SX4 doesn't need a facelift; just an engine job is fine to sell the car in great numbers! I still feel that the old alloys were better than the present ones.

Guess the designers were on a high while designing this. To me the grill looks like that of the Nissan teana.

Guys, relax. That is the China specific model. I am sure, that Indian model would not have any changes. If at all, very minor.

The chrome overload on the grille makes me think its for India.

Please note there are no handouts or even any teasers from MS themselves on this.

Incidentally was speaking to my mech at Maruti Service Masters Chennai. He was also stating the same stuff and in fact went to tell that the engine will be the 1.3L one and not a 1.6L like the current petrol one in SX4. No mention by him on the 90BHP part. leave it to our well informed and more knowledged BHPians to confirm if they have heard any further on this.

Heard that Maruti is planning to procure engines from VW than from Fiat again. Any idea which engine will be placed on the new SX$ diesel? Eagerly waiting for this car...

I hope that is true, if it is the same engine that does duty in VENTO. But that would kill Vento sales, VW surely will not shoot themselves in the foot!

I spoke to the Maruti sales guy a few days ago. He said after Kizashi, SX4 Diesel will be the next, followed by Swift towards end of the year.

The facelift has integrated blinkers in the ORVMs as well. Rear seems good. The front grille sucks, seems like Manza's grille to me.

Integrated Blinkers have always been there on SX 4 for a while, I think the first year models (ie whenever it was introduced, may be 2006-7) didnt have them but after that it has always been there.

SX4 doesnt need a facelift, all it needs is a diesel engine to get the sales sky high, and from the DZire experience- Maruti will know this very well.

The facelift looks good to me. SX4 needed those double barrel headlights for a long time. The rear looks more complete now with dual side reversing lights.

The car looks more properly proportioned. I sincerely hope MSIL will not play with the massive ground clearance.
